I have a Worx 4v batt screwdriver - Used it for a job today and when finished went to charge it.
I usually wrap cord round the plug pins and when undoing cord the plug slipped out of my hand and fell to floor unwinding cord as it went.
It hit the carpet with smallest of bump then when plugged it in the red light on driver didn't light up - Well it did for fraction of a second.
Got my tester out and on the end of the cord I was getting 11.8v instead of 4v. Now I assume the screwdriver is protected from excessive voltage. On the charger it says output 7v at 250mA
I found a old Nokia charger that reads 5.9v so my question is - is 5.9v still too much.
I still have to do a bit more searching as I am sure I have a few more chargers laying around with a bit less voltage.

Bit peed off really as this is a very handy batt screwdriver that cost me the massive sum of £5 when Homebase was closing down.

Now fixed - used a 5.9v Nokia charger -changed the ends over and it seems to have charged the driver up. Red light came on when switched it on and when came back in a few hours later light had gone out and driver worked fine.
