Lo all,

Just got this message on my MBP 3,1 - iStatPro says the health is 49% and it's had 453 cycles, does seem about right?

It's covered under Applecare so I'm assuming it will be replaced with non questions asked, I just wanted to check that just under 2 years and less than 500 cycles was standard for these batteries.

Cheers,

Panzer

AppleCare does not cover against batteries unless due to hardware failure. If they did, no-one would care about charge cycles and replace their batteries whenever over 3 years which dependant on usage could mean over 3 times (1 a year).
You will have to purchase a new battery.

kTHXbye

Are you actually speaking from experience? I had my MBP battery replaced about a year and a half into my AppleCare agreement because it had died.

Are partial cycles recorded? I thought the cycle count was always for complete cycles.

That's pretty bad, what have you been doing with it?

Mine is 98% health, 477 cycles and just over 3 years old.

Full charge then full decharge = 1 cycle

Full charge then half decharge then full charge then half decharge = 1 cycle

etc.

etc.

Or is that what your were trying to say? :p
