I have an lg g3 and a kindle at home. Why is it that since new on both these devices that if they are low on battery you cannot use them whilst plugged in charging, the battery still drains?

On my phone for example if it has 2% battery but plugged in charging, i could probably browse the web, but if i was to load up a game, the device would still run out of battery whether charging or not, is this typical for most people?

Im sure on older devices that once you plugged them in you could use them and they wouldcharge at the same time but this no longer seems true of modern items. Is it something to do with lithium ion tech in batteries and the way it works?

well for starters the devices are now bigger and more powerful, so a bigger, brighter screen, playing a more demanding game that's also using wifi, sensors etc. this will draw powers more quickly than before.

it could also be your charger isn't great. i have chargers that allow me to use my 6P and watch youtube and the battery flies up, but then other chargers that barely keep the battery at the same level while i'm using the device

All of my devices charge while using them, but they don't last great due to the reasons above.. But I would accept a thicker phone for better battery!

Are you using the OEM chargers and cables?

If your charger is only putting out 500mA it won't be enough to charge your device while using it.

Similarly if you are using a long usb cable (especially a cheap one) there will be too much voltage drop along its length and again cause slow charging.

Yea a 2 amp or fast charger if your device is compatible, should do a far better job than a regular 1 amp charger. I know my note 4 really struggles if I use older chargers and/or poor quality cables.

Another note is the phone will lower the charge rate if it starts to get warm, in order to prevent overheating.

Download memory manager and close all running apps, reduce screen brightness a bit, get a more powerful battery and a better charger. Disable apps you don't use, put it into airplane mode if offline. Probably some other settings as well to change. Batteries do go bad however.

You don't need to download a battery manager, just swiping the active apps away in the recent apps screen is enough.

It's your charger. Buy a 2a charger or a QuickCharge one if your phone supports it.
