Since Arma I've been a fan of battle royal.... Then all the games/extra mods came out.

Personally I'm obsessed with Fornite, I've spend hours and hours in pubg. However I eventually found I was getting very bored of the pace and the samey samey of each game. Played a load of fornite and absolutely loved it.

Anyways.... Great video by Levelcap imo. It isn't a PUBG vs Fornite youtube video. But some interesting things to come, such as Mavericks proving grounds and how they push server load on to multiple servers to reduce issues faced in current similar games!

Of course it's going to lose out...

Your gonna get your fanboys on BF, COD will have kill streak rewards and console will flock in droves.

Mavericks is the one I am interested in.

Pubg is an unfinished half baked mess compared to fortnite from the few hours I've played of both. It's popularity has a further negative impact on developers charging money from what 10 years ago would be classed as something between an alpha and beta.

I put in a lot of hours in various Battle Royale games but I'm at a point now where I'm already sick of them (and the way that every other game at the moment seems to be adding Battle Royale modes) , at this moment in time , I cant see myself playing a game in the genre, I'm already that bored of the genre as a whole.

Battle Royale is a fad and will pass in a few years, Even though I do like Fortnite, Used to play PUBG but I found it rather boring after they added that 2nd map, That was it for me.

as with anyone its what you like.i like pubg it isnt perfect but i enjoy it so thats all that matters.fornite for me is a disney kids game with rocket launchers.anyone can with if you have shotgun or anykind of rocket devic. its cool to hate pubg but its a great game what masses like. played battle royal games since they started and fps.quite happly play pubg for years to come as long as they add more content which they do regular.the new map with changes is really fun.then snow what shortly after.

cant ask for much more tbh.

people often moan about performance in it.arma 3 mods are ten times worse. h1z1 is dead. so you play pubg or fortnite.whatever you like just play.people moan too much now about gaming just play what you like and screw everyone else.

both are good games but fortnite is just much more interesting to me plus the skill ceiling is so much higher compared to pubg. the pubg devs seem to be making bad decision after bad decision where epic seem to understand why people play there game and are opening up more opportunities for people to have fun/experiment.

issue now is fatigue...these games in general are very much a fad that no one is going to care about within 2 years.

How good are you at fortnite buddy? Looking for a good duo partner https://fortnitetracker.com/profile/pc/domsodope

We need someone to take a step back, develop a game based on a classic like COD2 or something. Back to basics, 5v5, but focus on the professional players.

You mean like battalion 1944? I was a day one backer and hyped for it, but they missed the mark massively. Might even be rose tinted specs remember the glory days incorrectly.

Also focusing on professional scene means a pretty dead game pretty quickly. As they also found out.

different games marketed at different people.there is no way pubg can appeal to the same amount of people that fortnite can.unreal have focused on everything to make it the mass appeal game.chars are based on Disney pixar chars.that alone says it all.its for the masses pubg isnt.fortnite is FREE !! that alone is why you shouldnt compare.even though eventually most games will go ftp.

as with anything popular it starts off its amazing ! then after a while it becomes cool to hate. to show the prime example of this is call of duty. it also shows that comments like yours for eg have no real life effect on the game.

look how big the companies are behind the game.does anyone really think honestly that they have no idea what they doing ? come on. dont be silly.we talking billion pound products.

that is the issue with the internet and forums.most will list faults complain about games rather than just say i really enjoy playing the game.

i believe that battle royal hype will just be focused on the main games not die out.so pubg and fornite.the others jumping on the bandwagon will dissapear but those two be around for a long time.

as to the skill ceiling on fornite being higher hahahah ahahahha ahahah no. fornite is drop in get a shotgun or rocket launcher and pop. the building takes some skill but as you will see they will make this easier or add in ways to build with no skill so people who are bad can compete win.making it even easier to gain more players.its already happening with the build a fort grenade.fornite end game is mainly just rocket launcher.

pubg is harder to win a game than fortnite.nothing wrong with liking fortnite or pubg. just realize who the games are aimed at.one is for kids as the main player base.to be played on console mainly.the other is mainly for pc and a older generation.

Yeah not sure I understand the skill ceiling higher on fortnite comment, that's just....bizarre. The building takes some skill, but the gun play is just pure jumping about and spamming shotguns.

I've played and enjoyed both, but PUBG is the more challenging and satisfying game to play imo

Professional players are a 5% of the market, they should play whatever everyone else plays and developers need to stop pandering to their whimsical whims. They do not know better than anyone else.

The market is rife for more variants which is a good thing, Bunghole have everything to lose within the next 6months. Fortnight has nothing to worry about due to the console kiddies it is well established and EPIC are on the ball with updates and fixes.

People like Pubg due to the semi-realism of it its quite simple.

skill ceiling is being confused with having mechanics you need to master/abuse. As opposed to Raw skill of outshooting your opponent. Wouldn't say either have a high skill ceiling as the RNG plays too bigger part.

Plenty of room for both games I personally don't' like fortnite br I tried it before I bought Pubg.

Pubg has been plenty of fun for me i wouldn't care at this point if it died. But I'm not sure we'll see anything big from any of the games he mentioned. CSGO rumours meh, Battlefield hints. and mavericks looks good but we will have to see how it pans out. 400 player games changeable terrain going to be tough on computers. People talk about AAA studios like nothing goes wrong too.

We shall see i wouldn't say it's exciting times though more oh look another BR and another one and another one.

There has already been a few others pop up on steam and i suspect soon that everyone and their dog will be making one, like what happened with open world survival games.

Its not dead, there are HUGE LANs planned, massive prizes, I read that one team actually retired on their winnings already! Its that big atm that Twitch have setup a new site to cope with the demand, Twitch 1944, with a weekly show hosted by Brammertron discussing the huge plays made that week.

There are crates and with around 70 players playing at any one time, you get to know everyone and can claim to be the best of the best pretty quick.

Each to their own and all that but i cannot understand what is fun about PUBG, it looks, feels, performs and plays like a half arsed mod as essentially thats all it is.

The whole premise is hide and hope you land in the right spot. There is just little tension, little reward, little risk.

It feels like it got big because of Youtube/Twitch more than actually being a quality product.

Doesn't actually sound like you played it. :)
