Is the second one worth watching?, I enjoyed the first but haven't bothered to watch the second as sequels are usually rubbish.

LOL The Departed is based on a movie came out in Hong Kong in 2002 and the remake was shot, post production, promoted and out in 2006.

That's nothing.
They are remaking "The Eye", a very very good asian film that will be out this year with a US remake. that's 2002.

The Grudge was remade a single year after it's release in Asia.

And it was RUBBISH

Made my housemates watch infernal affairs las month and they were much more impressed, even though one of the girls said 'this is a copy of the departed' :rolleyes:

The Departed was outstanding.
People like to appear all knowledgable by aknowledging that it was a remake, it was and Hollywood never hid this.

I hate the mentality people have that remakes can't be as good or better than the original, or even close. People think it makes them look if they write them off, instead it just makes them look like fools.

yes, brilliant film. couldnt care for it being a remake and that shouldnt automatically = crap film. what dont peopel like about it anyway? It will be my next bluray purchase :cool:
