*** Battlefield 1 ***

So smartcar using a joystickpad will make him an air ace.

They really have made this casualfield if he becomes good at something.

What a time to be alive :D

:D

But yeah, from what I could tell in the alpha, there was no best speed for turning and the planes just felt really arcadey + the amount of planes designated for certain roles now is worst than bf 4 in the sense of a great attack jet pilot standing no chances against a half decent noob in the stealth jet + the utterly idiotic damage system and hold "X" to repair :o

To find the percentage / resolution just use the user.cfg file we used in BF4..

;)

EDIT..

100% on my 1080p monitor is 3840x2160
61% on my 1080p monitor is 2554x1436

I guess theres no exact 1440p scale up from 1080p then.

Nice so 42% is actually 1:1 then?

Looks like it, i just noticed that scaling up and then back down to 42% doesnt show me back at 1080 until i restart the game..

Adjust at your own will :p

Edit.. Actually, restarted at 42% and its now showing at 1896x1066.. reset video options will fix this as that is how i fixed my low fps earlier after whacking it up to 100% thinking that was my monitors res..

Everyone should take note of this.

Why DICE decided to put x2 heavy tanks onto the same side on 24 player rush I'll never know.

They somehow keep managing to make rush worse on every single release.

Typical dice, cram as much as possible into the game/maps, you would have thought that they learned from bf 4 regarding this...

I noticed that in a youtube ronku vid, what was worse was it was 16 a side, with 2 tanks each and the field guns too. They need to scale vehicle numbers with player numbers.

Alti range conquest large 8v8, there's more vehicles than players!

1440p people if you want to run 4k Resolution scale you want 63%

And for 1:1 @ 1440p?

50% basically means you are at default resolution, not scaled and now rendered at lower res.

100% just renders things at a higher res and anything under 50% at a lower than native res.

I prefer to keep it as native 50%

No default is 42%, it really makes no sense.

I don't understand, is there not an option to select an actual resolution like most games?

Edit: Im being a noob, I get now why you guys are doing it, upscaling XD lol Too early in the AM for me

Any early opinions on how it feels?

UI is absolutely gash, the **** is going on there? But gameplay is actually quite good so far, i'm quite enjoying it. The weapons are great.

Problem is, it's one map that is frankly a bit rubbish and you know they'll change a load by release anyway, so we'll see. Initial feel of the game is positive for me.

I have a feeling DX12 is locked to 60fps (on my 60Hz monitor at least), can somebody confirm please?

Stays at 60fps with Vsync 'off'.

For me Afterburner OSD isnt working in DX12 either, plus i got some millisecond freezes in DX12.

Played half a dozen rounds so far.

My thoughts...

I love it. Just love it.

Graphics are great, runs silky smooth. Love that the tank shells create craters, love the sfx (weapons in particular sound brilliant). I agree with someone earlier who said that the damage feels more like hardcore, kills are pretty quick. Loving the gameplay, feels more tactical and moving around feels less sprinty than the last few BF games (so far at least).

One thing I am not liking so far is the chat font, I find it far too big. I know you can change the UI scale but is there anyway to change just the font size?

Overall , so far. Love it. Absolutely a day one buy for me.

My initial opinion is I just can't get into it, maybe it's just my lack of skill, I start run a bit get shot, rinse and repeat. It was the same with BF4 so wasn't expecting much difference
