I think South Africa have jacked up the prices.

I went on bf4 last night and it was great, i thought i might have just been rubbish on bf1 but as soon as i went on bf4 i was killing like normal, was great.

Not gonna lie...

BFBC2 = loved the game, it stopped me playing halo
BF3 = played FOR AGES, on PC and Xbox 360
BF4 = paid for premium, played less than 10 hours
BF1 = looks like no purchase for me, crap

BF1 was ok but nothing more. I don't feel like spending £100+ just to keep up with most of the player base either so I think I will give it a miss.

I'd doubt very much that most people will be buying the most expensive version.

Yeah the vast majority of player pool is always on the base game. Dice/ea need to come up with another way of making that extra $.

As the DLC's come out though people who play the game most will likely get them and add them onto the base game, thus fracturing the playerbase.

Always the way with add-ons though, pity they don't release the maps for free after x amount of months to keep the player-base together.

I know it happens regularly but it's also why I didn't buy BF3 or 4. It's a silly system and it doesn't benefit the game at all.

yes and what many dont understand is the people who rent the dedicated servers dont want to run servers where people dont have the content to play the maps as they want the server ranking.

so the busiest fullest servers are always the default maps.

thats why i only ever buy the default games then if in the future 6 months plus servers are still busy you can add the extra maps if the servers are still busy in a popular game.

why would you buy the top package if the game might not do well ?

it will also be cheaper by the time the dlc is busy on servers

im pretty sure i read that the first dlc isnt due out until March 2017 so all this talk about fracturing the playerbase wont be an issue for a while....and by then i'll probably have gone back to playing csgo so i definately wont care

im going to sign up for ea access and start playing it on the 13th

Just buy the base game and wait for the DLC/Premium to plumit to silly cheap in about 6 months like it has done on previous Battlefields and even Titan Fall.

Yup, thats all I am doing. Just because there IS an ultimate edition , doesnt mean you have to buy it. Besides I may not even want all the DLCs, might only be specific ones I want so I will just buy them as and when. Even today I dont have all the DLCs for past battlefields. Just the ones which interested me

where did you get the info about the preload?

this is on the Ea access website:

So you can only play 10 hours in the "trial" but i wont play more than that anyway in the first few days due to work and family.
