*** Battlefield 1 ***

These VPN shenanigans you speak of...... would that let a UK Origin account play it at midday then? Secondly, would someone get in trouble for it if they were to do that then? :)

Yeah, it would let you play in 10 mins. As for getting in trouble, I don't think EA would ever endorse it, but they haven't banned it either. There are plenty of chat logs of people asking EA support about it and they say it's okay or the odd producer saying they don't really care about it. What they do care about, though, is people using VPNs to get the games cheaper. I obviously can't say for definite, but myself and my friends have been using VPNs for early unlock for years without issue.

VPN has allows been allowed and no one ever banned from doing it last time i asked a friend at EA so dont think its changed.

many of us used to vpn the game to play early.i would now if i did have a early copy . have to wait till 20-21st though :p

Do you get much lag playing via VPN or is it a case of VPN to launch and then turn it off again? :)

Cheers guys, you've made my day with this info :D Although not sure work productivity will be what it was :p

You turn it off once the game loads. It was harder to do with battlelog, as you needed the VPN to enter the server, sometimes your connection would hang a little too long while disconnecting and you'd get kicked. However, with BF1 having an internal browser, I imagine it'll be much easier.

Turn on VPN > launch Origin > launch BF1 > tab out and disable VPN.

Really wanna play it before Friday but no way paying £65 for that ability when its £35 from other places ill have to wait :(

Only 15 mins left of my trial too sad times!

Okay, just to confirm the process of doing it with a VPN.

Enable VPN to AUS/NZ > Start Origin > Confirm that BF1 now says play > Disable VPN > Click Play.

I tried disabling VPN while the game was loading, but it got stuck in offline mode.

Strange issue, used my VPN and can now see it as 'Just released' but the play button is still greyed out and can't be pressed. Any ideas? :(

Know what you mean Leon, if I wasn't off work recovering from a dislocated shoulder I'm not sure I could've justified the extra as easily

Rebooted now and Origin seems to be down - "Origin encountered an issue loading this page", guess might be traffic?
