Battlefield 1943

After playing for around 24 hours total, I am now completely convinced that 95% of people who play this game are idiots.

Out of the 100 games or so I've played there would be 2 or 3 that I would call close with decent people on each team. I'm not talking about winning by only a few points, but instead the whole match was a constant back and forth struggle for control of the capture points. For the rest of the matches we either hold 3 or more flags for the entire match or its the complete opposite with the enemy holding the majority for the entire game (at about half way through I just give up trying and just run around getting kills).

I have even started blowing up planes if I see someone running for it just as it spawns, just to avoid them flying around for 5 mins to eventually crash it into a tree :o

Although atleast one game earlier tonight I noticed a group of 4 people (I assume they must have been a squad) moving together at all times, covering each others backs etc. If one of them died they would use the squad respawn to reinforce their squad. I was quite surprised to see people actually working as a team (they were still no match for my tank though :D, I will give them credit though since they did manage to force me back a few times to repair).
 
I think some are missing the point -this game is an arcade title. Pick up and play, have a bit of fun, nothing too serious. There are no incentives to win the match so there doesn't have to be a concentrated team effort to capture the flags. Half the time I play to have a good chuckle and not get too engrossed in tactics and strategy.

I want to start by saying the threads of lies that I'm not around are just that, lies! I'm still around chasing issues even while on vacation and if you posted one of these threads you were a bit out of line for doing so. And those saying I left right away, I stayed after the game released with almost zero sleep fixing the major issues we could and still working on the Mic issue which ISN'T just on our end and needs working with Sony to help resolve! If you have lag (Not including APAC which we're working on, not an easy network you have over there!) it really is most likely on you end or your ISP. We can't fix that no matter how much we wish we could. Point is I'm still here!

Current Status on some pending issues
*PS3 Mic - Nothing much changed and it is very hard to get logs or this to pass onto Sony, but it is a priority.
*AOL UK - Things are looking promising and a possible resolution may come next week. Don't stop contacting them though as you are their reason to resolve this.
*Sydney Servers for Xbox 360 - Our match making system is not connecting players to the servers and this is being worked on as a priority by our Online team. This is not a simple problem, but is a priority for them.

That is all for now and I hope most of you can understand (a lot of you already do) not everything is a simple fix and sometimes for better or worse it takes time to weed out and resolve.

I play the game every so often when I fancy a bit of a break from FIFA and I don't care if I win the round I just like having fun shooting people online.
 
Good to hear DICE are still working on the voice issues with Sony, albeit slowly.

The website now has all the stats for players such as stamps, favourite vehicle etc.... which is nice ;)
 
DICE dumped support for this game the moment it was released it would seem. Seems to be a recurring pattern with them.

The fact it sold over a million units doesn't mean much to them. They have their money. Move onto next project.
 
I pretty much suck at this game, but finally made it to 100 matched in this and can happily put it down and to BF Bad Company for the online and single player shooter ... it was a good ride for XBLA, but i do prefer BFBC :)
 
Looks like EA's short term rental of extra servers has expired. :D Getting a game today was nigh on impossible - it took 10 attempts and then it was lag central. Obviously DICE are not arsed now and are concentrating on building the Frostbite engine for PC.
 
i could get on fine earlier. same as normal

bought a ps3 last week and this is one of games i got. just needed something to tide me over shooting things till november

im bloody awful at it :( dont even know where i get killed from half of the time :o:p
 
Played the trial on the PS3 and I must say I enjoyed it.

Although, not being use to this style of game on a console i'm waiting for the PC release for this one. :p
 
wow this game brings out the worse in people lol just been playing on coral sea to get my 100 games and i have got pretty good at the flying the planes to a point were am in the top 3 all the time, just got like 10 messages of some kid called WoozyDan swearing his head of at me calling me all sorts of names under the sun because i happened to kept killing him when he was trying to get on to my aircraft carrier lol, i swear its just a game but some kids need a time out to go sit in a corner or something. apart from that am loving this game even though am late to the party :p
 
I haven't played since I hit 100 games. It's great fun and towards they end of my play I was getting the hang of the planes (and like you, getting loads of grief for it) but there isn't enough variety to keep me interested in the game long term.

same here now i have the 200/200 i dont think i have the heart to keep going shame there not bringing out a another part like Normandy or something :(
 
Thought I may as well bump this thread instead of starting a new one. Picked this up today whilst it was on special and I'm quite impressed so far, very easy to pick up and play and do well without being outmatched by everyone else already playing.

Anyone else pick this up today or still play from previously?
