Battlefield 2 disc unusable, what to do?!?

if its already installed download a mini-image from gamecopyworld. perfectly legal.
If not, find a dodgey download and get it, aslong as you have your cd-key. Its what i do when i leave my discs at parents/uni when im not at either etc.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest but I'm afraid it's not legal due to the fact that you're still using a reverse-engineered copy of the data on the disc to circumvent the CD check.

That's not true, just download it, don't apply any cracks and away you go. Forget the legality of it, it's a moral choice. You bought the game and you will be using a real purchased key. You're not going to get caught for anything, so just download it already!

I agree with you on the moral choice but you're wrong about the legality of it.

It is illegal to circumvent copy protection via reverse engineering, no different to a crack.

I see, not quite what I meant though. I did the same thing for SF (didn't realise you could just use BF2 ). The actual ISO is just a direct rip, nothing is tampered with. That happens at the cracking stage. Once you are finished burning the disc, it is just like mine or your legal copy.

Regardless, I understand downloading it may be illegal, but in this scenario I would certainly turn a blind eye :)

use the mini image as someone said, i use that, and i play a few games on the PC and cba with swapping discs all the time just so the game can do a one second check to see if the disc is there
