Battlefield 2 Graphics Problem

Hey there,

For a while now I've had a problem when I load up BF2 that causes my screen to flicker all over the place, looking like this:

It used to be pretty temperamental and happened only every so often but it seems to be getting a lot worse now. A reboot used to fix the problem but this still happens over reboots now.

The other thing that happens (after it's happened on the game) is that I'll reboot and the usual black screen with the windows loading bar will just be a pink blur almost. If I get a chance I'll screenshot that also.

I'm running:
Intel Core i7
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 XT
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit

Could it be that your PC is too awesome for that game ?

Which patch of BF2 are you currently running?

Running 1.4

I've tried it on a few resolutions now and a few different refresh rates. I took out the 75Hz and it seemed to load up just fine. Now it only seems to load up on 800x600 but I can change it when I'm in the game.

Very odd, i am playing (subject to ping) well at max 1600x1200, have you a loose DVi connection? I am running 1.41 (1.53 beta has little server support).

Is it just BF2 thats playing up, what about a more graphically taxing/newer game?
