Which one of these would you say is a better online game? I can only get one at the moment. i could run BF2 a lot better but i would have thought a lot more people would be playing 2142.

thanks

bf2 was the best until the did all the patches...it was a prefect and amazing game at the realease.

Ah..ahaha.....ahahahaha...ahahahahahahahahahahahaha :D :D :D

Your having a laugh? BF2 was well buggy at release, admittedly the patches haven't helped but that has got to be the worst statement ever!

bf2 for me, the aiming in 2142 is ridiculous in my opinion and the weapons are just pathetic :D and the titan mode gets real old fast

2142 for noobs, Bf2 for for the L33t!

qf2

I just unlocked the l96a1 sniper rifle and have gone back to BF2 from SF, since you cant use the 2nd unlocks per class in SF (wtf is with that :/).

I played BF2142 a bit, but found it to be nowhere near as enjoyable as BF2.

BF2 by far.

My housemate is hooked on 2142 but I just can't get into it. There doesn't seem to be much of a challenge. It's easy to kill anyone and you get points for breathing. There's just no challenge to it. You finish a round with silly points, pins and promotions. As someone else said, BF2142 is BF2 on easy mode.

BF2 still looks better and plays better and although the points system leads to more of a grind, it's far more satisfying when you get an unlock/ medal/ promotions, etc.

But, there are certain places online that are selling BF2142 for 19.99 including ALL the previous Battlefield games. You could that one and have all four versions to play.

The aiming takes a little getting used to, but once you've sussed it then it's no bother. I disagree about the weapons though, I'm more comfortable with the Baur than any weapon in BF2, plus I think the urban levels in 2142 are all head and shoulders above Karkand, Sharqi and Jalalabad.
I wasn't sure about 2142 when I first fired the demo up, but once I'd got used to the new way of doing things I found it much more rewarding.
Incidentally, I've seen hardly any spawnraping in BF2142, which was something that really tainted my gaming on BF2.

Battlefield 2 is miles better, Battlefield 2142 is just a dumbed-down expansion. There are less classes, people run slower and for less distance, aim is more forgiving, everyone has heavy armour and millions of little and easy to get unlocks to help them play, and as said you basically get points and pins for doing absolutely nothing.

Titan mode is fun, for about ten minutes.

I think that Battlefield 2142 sucks and caters to the people who whinged too much about Battlefield 2.

Edit: Oh, and apparently anyone who has a negative opinion of Battlefield 2142 is a "Battlefield 2 fanboi" even though they hate all the problems with Battlefield 2 just as much. So there's another thing that sucks about Battlefield 2142, too many kids play it. At least they are out of my game though.

BF2

+ great setting, graphics and mucho fun, Infantry Only mode is fantastic and WARLORD ***!¬
- got nerfed too much with patches , spawnraping lack of teamplay on pubs

2142

+ significantly diff to last game, can equip your soldier to fit your style, promotes more teamplay, titan mode , CAN TAKE OUT APM's (claymores), ingame Buddy list, loading time is a fration of bf2
- titan mode lag, some boring maps, too many glitches (will be patched out*cough*yeah'riiiiight)

have enjoyed every game in the series so far (exclude secret weapons of the luffy) and each have there good and bad points.
neither game is better tbh, its a preference thing.
i hated 2142 beta/demo, warned most of my m8s how poor it was ... then went and bought it on the day of release, and im glad i did
Ignoring all the bf2 fanbois 2142 haters, 2142 is defo a worthy purchase and great fun.

2142 for me.
I don’t really understand the complaints some people have with 2142, particularly with regard to scoring. Personally I found it far easier to rack up points on BF2 (mostly because you get more points for kills) and I prefer the new unlock system, where their are far more unlocks with a lot of variety but you get them much more often. I also love the ability to kit out your character as you want, defiantly adds a new layer to the game.
That said both are great games and I would recommend trying them both as they do both have their advantages.

I don't think it's fair to say there are less classes, the mix and match you can do with the unlocks makes it far more in-depth and blurs the lines between the classes, which I think is a good thing.

I can't argue with someone else's opinion, you're entitled to it.

So the fact the developers listened to the users and tailored their follow-up to be more in the mould of what the users wanted is a bad thing?

Only in your head mate, I understand that people are different and 2142 isn't for everyone, it doesn't make anyone a fanboy, what does is going into 2142 threads specifically to slate the game. I haven't seen any 2142 'fanboys' doing that in BF2 threads, so that doesn't really reflect your suggestion that only 'kids' play BF2142, if anything the evidence points the other way, but in both instances these types of people are a vast minority, every game has them, so in truth it's irrelevant.
In short, both games are good, both have strengths and weaknesses and there will inevitably be people who prefer one over the other.

There are too many pins in BF2142 though ;)
