Son just updated his Battlefield 2042 and it crashed, screen froze and locked up windows10. We had no choice but to hold down the power button to shut down the PC as nothing worked.

Now the PC refuses to boot and defaults to the bios screen. Bios sees his M2 drive but refuses to boot, returning to the bios every time after a few screen flickers. Booting from a Macrium Reflect Win10 PE usb stick it doesn't see the drive at all ?, hence can't run the Macrium windows boot fixer either.

What now ?. His PC is working fine on his old M2 but we need the new one fixing....

When you look in bios does it show as Windows Boot Manager on that drive?

Sounds like it was potentially failing and the constant writing with the update has finally made it give up the ghost

Don't think it does yet not noticed that before on his pc bios ?. On my newer PC my m2 does show as windows boot manager, maybe a function of newer motherboards.... It should not fail as only a few weeks old !. Need to fix the Win10 boot partition somehow and see what happens.

It shouldn't but it does happen even drives arriving DOA, my first ever m.2 drive lasted 2 days before it failed and had to be replaced.
