Battlefield 2142 keeps crashing!! Help!!!

Ok I just bought Battlefield 2142. Installed fine, starts up fine. About 30 seconds into actually playing the game it just shuts down to desktop!

I've done a search over the internet, and I've updated the windows security patch problem, I've updated the Direct X files, I've closed down any problematic background programs, and yet it continues to crash!!

My system is more than capable of playing them game so I cant see it being a hardware problem..

I cant believe I've forked out 30 quid for a game I cant even play!!!

Anyone else having this problem or know how I can sort it????

overheating graphics card/memory/cpu maybe
crappy PSU also possable (non branded and works at lower wattage than stated) or could just be that BF2142 is the same pile of bug ridden crap that BF2 is.

the people who run BF2/2142 don't give a **** about you. live with it.

Tried setting the process affinity to just one cpu core? That is if you have a dual core cpu ..

U could leave it a bit before bumping? Have you tried google along with keywords for your gfx card and CPU? Have you checked the official Battlefield 2142 forums?

Whats your PC spec and what driver versions are u using for gfx card?

If you have dual core make sure you have the right drivers, otherwise just disable one of the cores using set affinity option.

Thanks for all the help/suggestions gents, I think I've found a remedy..

Go into the options file and turn VOIP off.. Should work fine.
