Battlefield 3 -problem after problem

It hates any rig, i play it on the rig in sig, i also have it installed on an i7 930 rig with an 8800gt, plays terrible on lowest settings, that rig had sli'd gtx 460's, even then it played bad. The game is just a poorly coded console game.

Ported console game rubbish again, stop speaking nonsense.

Plays fine on my rig in sig, never had any problems running the game with SLI.

At work so cant watch video, what driver are you running? Have you got the Crossfire profiles installed off ATI website?
Do you get the same problem when you run a single card?
Have you got MSI Afterburner installed to monitor gfx card usage, temps, etc.

so badly its unplayable and i get much lower FPS , thanks ill give it a go now and let you know how i get on in a sec

Out of curiosity, have you used anything like Afterburner to see what your GPU clock is up to? I had a vaguely similar problem a while ago where my 6850 was acting oddly and apparently running 100% just to display video. BF3 ran but it was pretty much fixed at 20FPS regardless of what the settings were.

Is that anything like what you're getting?

it is a console port

plays fine on mine but it is basically a console game.

And what evidence do you have to back that up? Did you work on the programming or tech team. It obviously shares the same design principles but is far from a port under the hood.

I work on ports from 3ds to psp vita and although a lot is the same the tech team code team have to re work a lot to fulfil the hardware. Even from an art point of view we rebuild shaders and change the engine essentially.

BF3 is so much more on the Pc.

Plays ok on mine:

Q6600 + 6870 (auto/high)

and also with my old card:

Q6600 + GTS250 (auto/medium)

must be sli/crossfire setups it struggles with (consoles only have 1 GPU) :p

There is nothing wrong with console ports imo as long as it's done right and turns out to be better on pc than console.

My sarcastic remark was on the emphasis that people automatically blame a problem on a game with it being a console port when there are other things that could be causing the issue.

The fact that the DICE team confirmed it?

Where to start?

Clustered maps that support 24 players better than 64. Basically all the action is clustered in the middle of the map with surrounding area left void with little graphical details, this was done because of console hardware limitations as well as them only having 24 player support, so maps are best suited for lower player counts. Remember the console is lead platform so maps are designed for them first, the PC may get an extra cap...whoopeee.
No VOIP on PC-was in BF2 a PC exclusive
No spectator mode-was in BF2 a PC exclusive
No battlerecorder-was in BF2 a PC exclusive
Console UI
Console squad management
Console spawn menu
Poor key binding options
Poor joystick support
gameplay dumbed down for consoles
The whole game client side just like 99% of games on console.
DX11 effects are BS, can't tell the difference between the game running in DX10 and DX11.

Basically the game is designed around consoles with PC getting the obligatory 64 players. Game was rushed to release to compete with MW3, 50% of the problems with it and features missing can be put down to this fact alone.

lead platform is ps3 then eggbox then pc

why would they not focus more on console when it dominates there sales. the game is 90 percent console game . people enjoy it fair enough it is a console game though it just looks better on the pc .
