Battlefield 3 Upgrade

imo going from a 6950 to a 580 isnt worth it,A single 6950 plows through BF3 trust me. :)
If your still not happy with the FPS then why not grab another 6950 for Xfire.
 
A 69501gb should eat bf3 alive @ 1680-1050 if you have a decently clocked quad and 4gb of ram if it doesn't I call conspiracy to sell new hardware.
 
Don't bother upgrading just wait for the beta 6950 is a good card, I heard that the guy which took part in the Alpha testing, was running it on the same card only the only diff was 2gb Vram and the game ran perfectly and like others said just wait for the beta which is just around the corner, and if your rig wont be able to cope with it then think about an upgrade.
 
You're wasting your money, wait for the game to come out first and see how it plays. Also you have an AMD X955.. You really hoping for a big difference in FPS with that cpu and a graphics card better then the 6950 (You have hit the sweetspot for that system, before something starts to bottleneck the system) ? Stick with what you have and if you find it's not running as you like it to, update the monitor to 1920x1200 so this way the graphics card is made to work harder and that way the cpu does not become the bottleneck. Wait for the game then see.. but 1st upgrade I would make is a better monitor for that system, with a higher res display, then if still not happy update the CPU, motherboard and RAM, then again try again with the 6950 you have if still not happy add a 2nd 6950 for crossfire. This is the best way to spend your money ;).
 
Just ordered myself a 2gb 6950, thx OC, solely for this game, as I don't think my current ATI 4890 will cut it and a little bit off topic but anyone know the beta release date...gotta be soon surely, as the game is on sale the 28th Oct. IIRC.

I read mid september, but I also read we never landed on the moon so.........;)
 
Gtx 470 looks like the card to get for me ? £134 from ocuk tomorrow ? it seems only slightly slower than a 6950 ?
