Battlefield 3

We will be lucky if we even see it this year imo considering EA havent officially confirmed they are even making it.
 
Companies often put 1st April as the release date for games when they don't know the official date.

i dont think it will be till late this year or even next year either tbh....thats even if there is one :p but as i said ill give game a call

128 is possibly, its actually partially built into BF2 engine, there was a lot more crap on the DVD that needed to be on, someone had a little pull apart of it before and found the old menu screens etc with different community stuff(that would have been good) Think a lot of the maps were capable of 128 too, basically though we all know bf2 came out before it was finished, so its likely this was stuff that never got finished and was left.
 
Yipee a free online multiplayer fps in the battlefield series. That wont be at all populated by noobs and children will it. <-----sarcasm.

Sounds a lot like a version of TF2 simple cartoon graphics that run on many machines. It's about time companies started to release games that have time spent on gameplay not time spent on wringing every last cpu cycle out of an overclocked quad core pc.

In the world market I would think there are many many more PC's that could run a simple game thus a bigger market. Some people look att he spec on the back of a game and assume their pc wont run it, i guess if they make it simple all can play.

not keen on the dumbed down gameplay tho, less dependant on strat+skill? so its gunna be more like a console game, great.. cos thats fun.. or not.

Its free and itll be good for a quick game/laugh. Play BF2 or wait on BF3 if you want the proper battlefield thing.

you're referring to battlefield heroes. battlefield 3 is the 'next gen' battlefield game.
 
im reconing heroes will be a trial of the whole advert thing, should be interesting. I didnt mind the adverts in BF2142, after all billboards etc in game maps should have adverts on, its what they are made for right? couldnt give a toss about the menu ads, they are fine, and its not like intel and nvidia dont already hav ads on game startup.

exactly, i would have thought this idea could easily be placed into games such as GTA where there are radio stations etc :)

Enemy Territory (the original, not that godawful Quake wars tripe) was free, really enjoyable too and it wasn't flooded with noobs ruining the game.

BF3 first gameplay vid arriving at the second week of next month.

someone posted this info at shacknews forums.

I hop BF3 can crack the industry just like BF2 did 2 years ago. :)

Awful idea, thats what made PR so shockingly bad for me, seeming as if theres more players the maps would be bigger.
