Battlefield 4 - Thread

Another franchise ruined by EA. How desperate do you have to be to push BF4 beta access to sell your next COD wannabe, hell BF3 has been out how long? and they are pushing BF4 for pre-order sales, smacks of desperation. Not surprising seeing as EA shares are in the **** and the current CEO is about to get the boot.

They have took another great franchise, dumbed it down for the console market and made a mockery of it as a PC game, it's all down hill from here on.

It was confirmed ages ago.

I suppose so. They're not going to stop spewing them out, that's for sure. It just surprises me that it's this soon. I have nothing against the series but I'd prefer it (as everyone would) if they developed their games with more playability, instead of making more. That is the mindset that makes money but ruins the community. Gah, we need more decent developers/publishers.

they have had how many games out under the battlefield name now.

why they dont focus on perfecting whats already out since it was 40 for the game then take another 40 for the premium packs

the only sequel of all the franchises i am looking forward to is the next half life

Hmmm

Battlefield 4 beta access

Battlefield Bad Company 3 on employee cv

Battlefield 3 hasn't been even out for 1 year yet

For me it seems like ea/dice have realised that general interest in the BF3 has been waning.
For me BF3 provides only periodic enjoyment where I enjoy the game for 2-3 weeks and then leave it for few weeks and then get back into it for 2-3 weeks and so. I haven't enjoyed it continuously considering this is my first battlefield game which I have played.

Can't see myself buying this one. I loved BFBC2 and was excited about the trailers of BF3. Whilst the graphics/maps/gameplay were awesome, i just couldn't get on with the web gui and how buggy it was at the beginning.

And as other people have said they've clearly made this release too quick, so i think the level of work is going to be well under par. Don't have high expectations for this game!

To be fair Battlelog (aka web-based server browser) is actually very good, it's very easy to view your progress, assignments, unlocks etc. on top of setting all kinds of filters to find the servers you prefer. I just wish the game itself didn't close completely when changing servers, that's rather jarring to begin with.

Played all the Battlefields on PC up to BF3 so far and I've decided to give up on it. The direction they have took with BF3 with the x-packs and premium rubbish being constantly branded in your face is enough to know what the the franchise is now. Hopefully Planet side 2 isn't shabby, it essentially looks like BF so far.

why are ea such bumgrabbing walletmonkeys?

all they had to do was improve upon BF2 add few new maps few new tanks etc

easy win. but no.

now BF4 no thankyou

I've a feeling that we won't see much of the jump in tech that we have in the past and expect lots of even worse rehashed stuff. I love the BF series still, but.. myeh, I have my doubts.

Maybe BF4 will be in a different timezone, thus offering players two choices with the same engine / quality as opposed to waiting 5-10 years for the next timezone to be popular.

They might add in that revolutionary feature that we have seen in other games, where you can actually speak to other team mates IN GAME, yes IN GAME! Using a microphone.

Seriously though, screw this franchise. So, you get BF3 DLC up to March 13, then BF4 comes out in Nov 13, then BF4 premium comes out, then new Medal of Honor: Ultimate Sniper Warrior Solder is announced, then BF5 is announced. It's just a filthy money stream for EA with no regard to dishing out a quality product. It is clear that EA are going down the Activision route and milking this franchise as much as they can.

Do yourselves all a favor and sign up to Planetside 2, that game aims to be around for a long time, no yearly rehashes, a passionate development team who listen to the community and it's bloody free.

**** Battlefield, stale as ****, if I could sell my copy I would.
