So 2026 for this game:
Would have thought later this year as they're already pre-alpha, though I'm not against them taking their time to actually get it right, as opposed to crapping it out half done because the EA overlords are cracking the whip.

They will try to get it out before Xmas.
I'm really hopeful that they can actually deliver a great game this time. I was one of a few here that didn't actually mind 2042 (provided you didn't play it/treat it like a traditional Battlefield game) but it had some really nice elements to it that I hope they don't move too far away from.
The interesting thing I've seen on the survey is they reference 'The Finals' quite a bit when talking about impact of destruction, how much destruction means to you, how much it effects play etc. and the importance of it - and The Finals is absolutely the best FPS game right now when it comes to implementing destruction without making it feel like a gimmick.
It can heavily effect the way each cashout/point plays as a result of the destruction so if Dice/EA can channel that into the new BF game it'll be great to see. It makes every round play/feel different even if you're on the same map and playing the same mode.
I do hope they don't bother with Portal again. Great idea in theory but if you're not going to actively support it and have a dedicated team putting work into it every single month then it will just sit there and do nothing.

Nah that tweet just refers to their statement about financial years which means no later than April, could be 2025.
playing battlefield with destruction is simply put the best feeling

Sounds like it is going back to its roots more which is a good thing in my opinion with the classes etc, will def be keeping an eye on this as nothing can beat the mayhem and craziness of a Battlefield game in full flow!
I so want it to be back to what I remember of the earlier games, 3 especially - I really enjoyed that game.
V and 2042 launch games were ridiculous in their own special ways. I did enjoy them both after some time but I just hope for not a repeat.

Same... But, I have a feeling the next 'full' title, not rehashed maps and modes from older titles won't be until 2027 or later.

Without working out if you're joking or not... it means diverse in terms of player base. Console vs. PC, mouse and keyboard vs. controller, BF vets vs. newer players, vehicle players vs. infantry players.
The last thing they want from any playtest is 400 PC players, locked in on mouse and key who are all trying to get the little bird as soon as it spawns.
