——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Will keep an eye on this but after 2042 I'm not holding my breath.
I still think that if you didn't treat 2042 like a BF game then it actually was quite fun and enjoyable to play (once the first disastrous 12 months were out of the way).

Even then it wasn't great in my opinion, they clearly had no idea what they were doing with it, complete lack of direction. They "fixed" the large empty maps by removing half of the playspace.

sounds more realistic though
If it's just carbines, shotguns etc that all classes can use, like BF4 then that's fine but it sounds like Battlefield 2042 to me were you can any weapon with any class and you just get a perk benefit if you use sniper with recon and assault rifle with assault class etc.
If like 2042 expect medics camping with sniper rifles healing themselves :-(

Because it was never a traditional battlefield game in the first place. The best theory that was doing the rounds was it was initially going to be a f2p battle royale type shooter. Midway through development EA changed their minds and it had to be rejigged into more of a standard BF game. Which explains all these specialists and the masses of totally empty space on some of the maps. There's a video that shows what they reckon happened and the theory fits in pretty well.

Just watch from the 21 min point onwards, sums it up well and probably very close to what actually happened.

so your saying a medic shouldn't be able to pick up and use a sniper rifle in real life? he might not be hitting people from 2-3 miles away but anyone within a mile I'd reckon they have a good chance.

do you think the seargent is going to be shouting get your MP5 idiot, why are you on a sniper rifle/50cal vs insurgents attacking our base?

aren't snipers usually in pairs? spotter+sniper? and I bet both of them have medical training to some extent, at least enough to deal with bullet wounds.

how much realism do you want the game to have? so much that it stops being fun? even a child can use an ak47 effectively they do it in africa all the time with child soldiers

Yeah at the end of the day there is always going to be ways to cheese mechanics, up to a point I don't have a problem with that it just means you have to get clever to deal with it. There are exceptions like when people were able to sit in relative safety in spawn zones on some BF4 maps and endlessly spam UCAVs without the normal cool down using a semi-exploit.

No I'm not saying anything about real life. This is Battlefield and weapons should be class locked imo, makes for a better game. Looks how 2042 turned out. It would seem only DICE and yourself disagree if you look at the communities reaction to that announcement

Cosmetics and battlepasses are the worst thing to have happened to gaming

Online was good at the start with gaming, then they figured out how to add dlc, micro transactions, tiered game pricing that just meant you got a lot of stuff early instead of unlocking it. Aye a **** show now.

And people still insist on pre-ordering a game that's digital like they're gonna run out of copies...hence the bait on the hook being access to alleged betas etc.

Has anyone received an invite to today's alpha weekend? Nothing in my emails and I was one of the first to register for Battlelabs

I have and will be giving it a go tomorrow. A few of the guys I play BFV with are on it today, but haven't had any feedback as of yet.
