——The Official Battlefield 6 Thread——

Doesn't sound promising if true.
The article makes many good points, and I can't imagine having studios in time zones as much as six or seven hours time difference away is conducive to efficient working. And then starting up a studio from zero and expecting efficient and good output within six months when some recruitment for senior or important positions like programmers or artists might take that long itself is beyond even the biggest expectation.

Little annoyed I've not had a play test invite, Completed the the form early days. Even answered the email survey they sent out and have all the BF games in my account. Guess they didn't like the answers to the survey :p

you would think they would look at the EA accounts and see who has all the BF games (apart from that last clown game). If the playtesters are just johnny randoms then its pointless. Im also getting the impression the Golden age of PC gaming has long gone.. BF Vietnam really kicked off the multiplayer for me, BF2 was the peak (not just for BF) communities could have their own servers. Mods could be made and where actually better than the base game. PC now just gets mostly console crap from the big companys. Hell Let Loose, Arma Reforger, and a bit of PubG is all i have at the moment for multiplayer. and the latter is so full of hackesr im getting fed up with that. BF3 and BF4 were great games but the scale was starting to slide. BF1 and BFV although graphically amazing were crap, and i got the latest one on steam and then refunded it.

Can't see it coming out this year. The article is a bad read

It has a vague whiff of 2042 all over again. With 2042 they also bragged about it having the largest dev team to date. What they conveniently failed to mention it was mostly new hires that had zero clue about the engine at all.

I never once even tried to play Firestorm in BF5, so I doubt I will play BR in BF6 (I don't play Warzone either).

An extraction mode would at least be better than BR (although they tried that in 2042 and that also failed), but I think Delta Force pretty much has that covered at present

Firestorm was good to be fair! It was just locked behind having to own BFV so most people interested in BR games weren't going to pay for the full title to access it, and most usual Battlefield playes preferred the traditional modes.

Firestorm made some good decision choices for a BR, a lot of what they did was copied in the early days by Warzone (and even elements of Apex were changed in line with how Firestorm worked).

I still don't think a BR is needed for BF6, we all just want a great actual Battlefield game again.

Battle royal genre like extraction shooter genre needs to just disappear for awhile sick of games trying it when the fans of the franchise just don’t want it
