Battlefield 6 - Thread

Battlefield 2142, 3, 4, Bad Company 2, Battlefield 1 - there you go

Bad Company 2 gets a "Good" grade from me.

2142 is just BF2 with a futuristic skin.

The other claims are laughable CoD copies and have strayed massively away from what Battlefield was originally, all way too fast paced and fail to capture to epic battle across a wide environment that BF2 and previous did.

B+ - Must try harder.

I've never really understood the hate for Battlefield V; I went and traded in an Xbox to buy a PS4 Pro with BFV to get it early and then spent hundreds of hours playing it on PS4 and PC over the years; never got the content it deserved.
BF2042 I just never got into after its poor start

From what I remember there were a couple of female characters but no black, female marines storming any beaches?

It was full of female characters, you could even select female for the Japanese army which is completely absurd. You couldn't play for more than a few minutes without hearing a female character shouting medic which was completely immersion breaking.

Immersion breaking? Grow up - its a video game - why shouldn't women be able to select characters that reflect themselves in games? The days of the industry being pale, male and stale and long gone; its not the 1990's any longer where all a game had to do was feature someone with a polygonal breasts to be a seller; the world has moved on.

Can you elaborate please? What "Woke content"?

The trailer including the ginger woman with the prosthetic arm was a fairly egregious example.

More of a symptom of the series decline than a cause imo.

As is so common with this phenomenon the usage of such elements is often quite lazy and inaccurate.

For example the Nowegian campaign, which shoehorned a woman into an actual historic event.

If DICE had wanted to tell an story about a heroic woman, in combat, in WW2 they could have chosen a more accurate example (maybe a French resistance fighter or Russian front where women saw frontline service in the Red army?)

Rather than re writing who did what.

Good games make a choice.... you can have a 're imagining' of a wider setting like WW2 with fantasy elements but if your depicting particular, more discreet events, with known parties involved it's probably a good idea not to change too much beyond that which is required only to make the enjoyable to customers.

Battlefield 1 was the last decent BF game I played...nostalgia parts of me are excited for another Battlefield but cerebral parts of me are doubtful it will any good.

Probably already cheat code out there for it...
Cheating became an industry and totally ruined every online game there is.

name one without cheats... probably only the really old mmos.

all the modern stuff is sloppy with too much stuff client side to save costs, like people teleporting around in modern MMOs.

1942 amazing, vietnam pretty good, bf2 amazing.
then went downhill from there.

Dedicated clan servers with their own admins or don't bother.... I wanna game on a server that has a community feel... not a bunch of randos I will never see again, and no admins around.

Maybe I get kicked to make space for someone, worth it for a well run server.

And to please everyone you end up pleasing no one dead game!

There were dozens if not hundreds of female spies and members of the resistance. It wasn’t an exclusively men’s war, far from it.

Will they manage the really tough features like a scoreboard or a server browser? After the last cluster **** of a game I can safely say nobody is holding their breath for this.

All the Dice alumni ****** off during and after BFV, so this is mostly a bunch of new devs with the only "BF game" under their belt being 2042, so basically no BF games to date as that turd doesn't count, its just a pity it managed to crawl out of the bucket it got **** into.

They're saying the new game has the largest team in bf history working on it, seem to recall the same claims being made about 2042 and look what that was. A rejigged f2p game released with more bugs than the average porno mattress that took over 2 years to actually fix.

I'm honestly gobsmacked they're even crowing about it again, remember last time how the game was "well ahead of internal milestones"? You'd think they would just shut up about it until they have something solid for people to see.

I think you're making it up pal, or dreamt it. Funny how people bandy the word "Woke" about. Anyway people play games not trailers.

US characters Marie and Rita both black female. So black USMC females on Iwo Jima is quite accurate. I’ve played 100s of hours in BF V so know it well.

I'm not quite sure what's the point of your post?

Unless it's an obscure way to agree with what I was saying?

Namely that if EA/DICE wanted to include more 'diverse' stories (re female involvement in WW2), in the single player game, then they could have picked one of the multiple real examples rather than taking a real event and changing the sex of one of the key people involved.

Because what they ended up doing was disrespectful to almost everyone.
