Battlefield2 how to land planes...?

Any ideas? I have tried loads but keep blowing up. And I keep seeing people do right in front of me AARG!!

Why do you want to land them? Just bail out when you're done with the dratted thing.

key thing is approach speed

get a joystick so you can set the throttle to a tiny ammount and cruise in and land with ease.

You need to start holding S pretty early on to get nice and slow as you bend round towards the runway, as the last guy said, its all about getting the approach speed right.

If you are in a VTOL plane though just hold S and back up a bit until you come to a hover then float down like a leaf

u have to come in at about 500-600mph and be at the right height for it to land safely, which means u need to be LOW.

low and slow... flare at the end.. hit the breaks (not too much though in some games u will flip over if u hit the breaks hard) ...

this is all just a guess though, have never landed a plane on it before, whats the point ?

Took me days to learn how to land a helicopter using mouse and keyboard. I still find bailing out of aircraft simpler than landing them though

Forget landing, as said above, just fly it about, and bail out when your done with it.

You can repair just by flying over the hangar - no need to land!

Although the best thing for that is to touch down briefly and do a rolling rearm

I have enough of dodging base raping planes, enemy spec ops, friendly M95 fire/C4/mines/people jumping on wings when I take off.

Its wuite easy on a keyboard, albeit a bit harder. You need to use your slow down key before you reach the runways and slow to about 200, at which point your plane will decend itself out of the sky and you land. OK its not as smooth as doing it properly, but you get down

Maybe the OP has 3 bars of health left in which case he will need to land for a full repair.
