bb 9300 - wifi issue, net only works with mobile network off?

right I just got a 2nd hand Blacberry 9300 now I have set up wifi but it seems it wont connect tothe internet unless I turn off mobile network :confused:

any ideas?

I'm not interested in using the BIS service, just want wifi while im around the house but im having to disable the mobile network just to get it to work
