BBC and the Fairytale of New York

Us gays honestly don't care about this sort of petty BS, we use the word all the time and it's actually insulting that they are censoring lyrics like this, pure woketivism in action.

This is not the US and the only way to progress to a better world is by removing oppressive language in our culture.

The only gay in the village?

I know little Britain already got banned but jeez, they would never make stuff like that today.

Are you the head spokesperson for all LGBTQ people now?

You forgot the + on the end. You fail at being fully inclusive.

I'm glad I have the wireless tuned to Radio 2 rather than listen to the garbage that is Radio 1. Except when Steve Wright comes on, then I switch to Planet Rock.

You mean you sit through Jeremy Vine before making the decision to change station?! :p

I have a vehement hatred of this song. I will turn the radio/tv off or change station if it comes on.

Be quite happy if it was never to be heard again.

so you speak for them all then?

The same could be asked of those pushing this kind of censorship, who put the BBC and other private corporations in control of policing things that some sensitive people might find offensive? and since when did being offended by something mean that it should be eradicated from history? we're moving towards the societal equivalent of living in a padded room with nothing there to cause harm(offence). The best example for me was Donald Trump being cut out of his cameo role in Home Alone.

Do they censor other songs on radio 1? To what extent?

I mean is it just the [word that sometimes refers to a pork product too] that is being censored here or the sexist stuff too?

If they censor the sexist stuff then do they do the same with rap and R&B.

Or is it different rules for working class Irish culture.

What will the BBC choose next for a bit of outrage? Will they censor Baby it's Cold Outside this time next year?

Go on GAB and disagree with the nutjobs on there, you will be called a faggot within seconds.

Majority of music is censored on Radio 1, including rap, this isnt new.

I doubt it's that offensive to many people. But fair enough, if it does offend people then let's change it to make them feel more comfortable. Those that want to hear the version with offensive lyrics can just play it themselves. No issue.
