BBC in trouble again

Both sides are at it..

Yes, a lot of media pushed several false narratives about trump, the "some very fine people" being a prime example..

However, there is equally as much out of context, deliberately framed 'misinformation' emanating from the right about the left..

The BBC comes across as being very biased, however, I concede that examples of their bias on both sides can be found with the BBC, this doesn't make it impartial because both left and right get upset, it's more about their poor journalistic standards..

On the whole I would probably defend the BBC, as it does appear that they get as much criticism from those on the right (being media luvvies/liberal agenda permeating through everything from News to CBBC ) as those on the left (being pro Israeli, giving Farage too much airtime on QT etc) so ultimately are probably pretty balanced.

That is pretty bad tho.

What did he say before..."and we fight, we fight like hell"?

I mean that was mixed in near the end of the speech, and just after he goes on to talk about going to the capitol. A lot of news sites cut speeches like that together. It isnt as if he didnt say all those things, and it doesn’t change the context of what he was saying through the whole speech.

Regardless, he lied about non existent widespread election fraud, and lied about the fact that he lost the election, and encouraged people to fight against something he made up/doesnt exist, for his own gain.

"We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore,"

But he also said

"I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

As awful as Trump is there is no outright call for a mob to attack the Capitol building, people can say the 'fight like hell' comments are evidence of it but to me it reads more like a general statement saying to fight against the election allegedly being stolen (lol), similar to how people say we must fight against facism/racism/whatever.

Do you think he was really going to do that though (just out and out tell people to attack the capitol)?

That is what Trump does. There is always a level of plausible deniability built in to what he says. He is just a mob boss at heart.

I find that from a UK perpsective the BBC is broadly non-partisan for UK parties but has a strong bias to progressive politics now it's kind of ironic the very regular trust us we're the BBC adverts that have been playing recently when examples like this show that in a more non-UK party political sense they have very strong biases.

But this isn't a shock to anyone is it?

I have not taken BBC verify totally on trust since their reportage on the Israeli bombing raid on a Gazan hospital carpark which barely dented the tarmac and was later proved to be a Hamas blue on blue.

Sky news reported the same thing, because I remember watching it live.

And it's not like Israel hasn't committed absolute atrocities in Gaza, so getting one story wrong literally as it was being reported is hardly a reason not to believe BBC news.

And still lies about it to this day.

It was very early in the conflict and Hamas has never restrained itself from attacks on Israel before and after October 7th.
The BBC jumped on the bandwagon with this story, did no prior checking and were wrong even if Sky were also.
I find it rich that they proclaim verification (internal) unless they cannot but then tell the story anyway.

Is there any broadcasting corporation that hasn't altered any of its media? Or is the BBC held to a weightier standard?

I imagine he was quietly happy about them storming it, but I'm not 100% sold on his speech being designed to encourage a riot, although like you say everything he says has an element of plausible deniability built in.

I read a whole book on this called "Is That True or Did You Hear It on the BBC". It does include a lot of the disinformation spread about trump with the Russian collusion and very fine people misquote.

Don't forget the pardon for anyone that was violent. And also don't forget those that were violent that claimed they were led on by Trump
