Aye, that petition and the fact they haven't made concessions for Vista show that the BBC are more concerned about their shareholders than the licence paying customer. Also they've claimed that they want to make it available to the largest user group in the first place and then worry about the minority user groups but wouldnt it have been far more sensible to go with open standards from the outset so they dont face the problem in the first place!

aye it just stinks of half assed ness

lots of software is released cross format. Just the BBC seem to be giving their devs an easy life by only coding initially for a very small system set on the argument this constitutes the "majority" of users.

Shareholders.... BBC?

Besides, it's only a test atm, i'm happy to wait if it means it will be good to go with vista.

I get BBC OD content via Virgin Media TV. My experience is that it's not got a huge amount worth watching but it's good for the odd show or two. :)

I'm just downloading my first programme, it's going soooo slowly though. I guess they've had a sudden rush of traffic .. but still.

only a tiny selection of programs available. i realise this is the first day and things might improve but for first impressions..... not good at all. but it is maxing out my connection. i'm downloading at over 700kb/s now that i've got the right media player installed..... :p

the file i'm downloading is 390mb for 1 hour. i'll report back on what the quality is like later. :)

It's a load of crap to be quite honest. Theres next to no programs, its slow to download, it uses rubbish DRM and the quality of the videos themselves is shocking

:(
