It has changed today - what do you think?

My main gripe is that they have ditched Verdana, the most readable web font by far. I will miss it. An increasing number of websites are ditching Verdana and I don't think any of them look better for it.

DD in hating change shocker.

I lol'd

I don't like how the BBC don't recognise Cheshire - my Crewe post code (that's over 30 miles away) gives me Liverpool news and weather

Initial thoughts, looks 'cheap' as in two-bit websites that report random stuff, does anyone else know what I mean? Apart from that I’ll have to see how I get on throughout the day.

Yeah, I agree with you. I much prefer Verdana. I agree with the blandness comment too. There's quite a bit of wasted space too.

I saw a preview image of the new design last week, and thought it looked better than the old design, but having seen it used, I think it's worse than the old design.

I'm actually quite surprised - it must be a pretty good change if only the font is mentioned by DD :p

It looks like poop at the moment because the categories bar does not go all the way across the screen so there are gaps each side, looks very odd.

Also it sucks that the categories bar isn't on the side, on a netbook it means you now have to scroll up and down to change to a different section - not cool

Looks bland and messy. The news has been diluted. The evil empire advertising itself a little more and wasting more licence payers money on self promotion and meaningless changes.

It's a nice update, still sticking with the same grid by the looks of it and I really like the clock.

Will probably get used to it, but I don't like it at the mo. You need to move around the page more than you did the old site. All the important stuff was clustered together.
Also don't like their increasing reliance on video - I suppose it's a good thing, but I'd like transcripts of video articles so I can read them at work.
