BBC now covering esports

The commentators tend to be in the irritating (to the British sports fan) American style, and in some cases they seem to struggle to adequately describe what is going on (ESL BF4 games were particularly bad).

Nail on the head imo, that's the biggest thing that puts me off watching it. Although that said, I'd much rather be playing games (badly) than watching them :p

Can't imagine sitting there watching best of 30 rounds CS:GO. How boring. I'd rather just play it...

I have always thought that until I realised " wait a minute these guys are the best in the world I might be able to learn something from them".

I started watching twitch streams for this very reason about a month or so back and guess what the high level players I play destiny with watch streams. They do it to learn from them rather than to just watch someone play a game. When I was watching a mate stream I saw how he was able to stay scoped and also watch the radar by de-scoping for a split second then scope in again. Something I never knew about. After watching him I started doing the same. Not to the same level as him but it probably saved me more than once.

You won't learn how to become a pro or anything. But you will likely pick up some tips if your perceptive and open to them. Where to nade. How to clear a section of a map. Where to look and where to pre-fire, etc.

For example I never thought flashbangs and smokes, etc were really worth it until I watched how the pro's use them.
