Quick check please.
Trying to play a video clip on BBC site on Android tablet.
It won't play as it wants flash.
Has it always done this? i swear it worked recently and did what it does on IOS and reverts to html5!
I've tried two browsers and checked settings.

Adobe killed off flash support for Android last year and Chrome now does not support it.
You could load an old version of flash and try it as a plug in Firefox/Dolphin. You could even try to side load the old stock browser if you want. Just do a search for "flash on Android".

I normally use Dolphin like 'Efour' and this was what I thought it had worked with before.
No flash installed.
Not sure why it won't work. I know you can force load flash but as I said I thought BBC should detect a mobile bowser and play HTML5 version instead.

If I use my iPad they play fine so BBC plays HTML5 for sure.

Only thing I can think is I updated to 4.2 last week and probably haven't tried since then.

It's annoying as the OP says that the BBC site wants to use Flash on Android instead of swapping to HTML5. It's an issue with the way the BBC servers have been setup I believe.

There's two solutions:

1) Swap to the mobile site when using Chrome on Android, it will use HTML5 video
2) Install Flash and Firefox (or an alternative) and open the BBC site, you'll be able to play it back.

Really though, the BBC needs to fix this.
