bbm for android

Agreed, its too late to make a differance, everyone just uses whatsapp and Blackberries market share has fallen too much to use to to communicate with them.

I don't think i know anyone who uses BBM now.

Whatsapp or Kik seem to be the new choice.

I really don't know what Blackberry are trying to achieve here. Not even this is going to save them now...

Is it likely that this will be able to work on a wifi only tablet? if so I can see it being useful...for example my girlfriend currently has an old HTC wildfire which is really slow and a pain to use, would be great if she could message from her Nexus 7!!

I did think about using that but the wildfire is really on it's last legs and is pretty unreliable about sending texts (often they go to the wrong person...very odd) so would like a solution that is purely tablet based - besides just using email of course...

It's possible with a bit of dark magic to get whatsapp running on a tablet without the message needing to pass through the phone. Have a quick google and you should find a guide, it's relatively straight forward iirc.

Cause I find Viber completely terrible on Android, Horrible UI, useless settings menu & you can't even change the notification sound!

Whatsapp & Kik on the other hand though I find much better.

To add to the topic, Far too late to be releasing this now. Most die hard BB users I know have now moved on.

Unless its available on tablets as well...thats a huge segment whatsapp is missing presently on ios and android.

Whatsapp seems to have way too much of the market share on cross platform messaging for this to even make a dent.
