As promised there will be a priorty booking system for this years BBQ meet which will be taking place on the long weekend of 18/21th August 2006 in West Wales (in the middle of nowhere)

Those who came last time WILL get first dibbs, here is a rough list of last year attendees (I might he missed a few, I had to do it from memory) if you were missed then let me know.

Please if you can't make it then also let me know I will leave this open for a couple of weeks so everyone gets a fair chance.

On the subject of fair; there are people on the list who didn't come last year but thats at my and Aitch's descretion, obviously there will be a few places available after this (were looking at 35 people this year) I'll be working on a way of allocating these nearer the time.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN GET THE HOLIDAY TIME. IF YOU SAY YES AND BLOW US OUT YOU'RE TAKING A SPACE WHICH SOMEONE ELSE COULD HAVE.

This years schedule will be similar to last, with a theme night, a visit to Oakwood and some time on the beach. I also have an idea for a special event which we'll discuss nearer the time :)

I have no idea what my work situation will be like then but I will be making sure that if it's still at CPW I'll be booking the time off with plenty of time spare. :D

Heres the excuse: I would have went last year, but i was already on holiday in newquay over that weekend, we should hold an ocuk meet there too ;).

You can be on the list but I'll be sorting that nearer the time :)

The subs list won't be decided on a first come first served basis so I wouldn't worry. People will however have needed to attended a meet before and be sure they can cope with 4 days under canvas with out proper facilities. As before it will be industrial portaloos and no showers and running Friday to Monday this is not a meet for softies!

Allocation of any spare places will be delt with off board and I will ask people to email me nearer the time. I don't want a whole favoritism debate but we'll do it fairly.

There will also be a charge for the meet to cover expenses, this is a non profit meet :)

Which brings me to another point, some things will be different to last year, for a start attendees will be responsible for their own breakfasts, we'll be getting some gas rings so bacon and stuff can be cooked, bring your own cooking utensils and frying pans. I'm trying to take some pressure off the 'rents. I can't see the cost per head being more then £20 which should cover the loos and food for the BBQ for one night

More details nearer the time about the theme night but it will be Australia and I am planning an event which will follow on from something which happened last year and should be fun :)

edit: Oh and if the minister can attend then Saturday night will be whisky night

OK let me say this once for people who don't understand, this event is held on private property with a maximum capacity of ~35.

Basically it is in my parents back garden, its a big garden but not massive, my parents allow this to happen through the goodness of their own hearts and I WILL NOT put them under more pressure than need be.

I like to be able to relax and the best way to enable me to do this is to have met and be comfortable with the attendees or at least have someone who can vouch for them from another meet, preferably a Don or member of the admin team.

If you think this is cliquey, quite frankly I don't really care, it isn't its being concientious about the people who provide the land. The land is provided FOC by the way and the will undoubtedly be time and money needed to make reperations to the lawn and site after the event. If we did this on a comercial site we would have noise levels and other restrictions place upon us, so we do it on private land. Its only fair for me to offer places to people who came last time before I open up the list to other people, would anyone have it any differently? I don't want to offend people by saying they can't come, no one was disruptive last time and if I banned everyone who had previously attended I would be stopping all my friends from coming and basically turning into an unpaid tour guide for a weekend, which neither I or Aitch are happy to do, sorry if this offends anyone but thats the way it is.

We're pretty stretched for spaces Garp, I've confirmed you a place, please make sure your other half is truely happy with being thrown into a four day event 24/7 with people like Gilly and Daz (explain to them how bad these two really are!).

Is there anyway you can get confirmation of whether you can get the holiday any sooner? Thats cutting it pretty fine to offer your place if you do have to drop out.
