It's reporting DL speed, with green tick on adsl, but just sitting there "connecting"

Nope still not working. The Speedtouch 780WL doesn't seem to like to be reset, switched off as it seems to take a while to re-connect to the net. It
wasen't like that on pipex.

My only other suggestion is the MAC address.

In my netgear router config I had to assign it the MAC code that is on the bottom of the Be Box not the MAC code of the Netgear router.

I cannot think of any other reason why you're Billion wont work.

I've had a look for that, but surely MAC code on modem is fixed? Not sure you can change MAC code on the Billion.

Nope, it definitely needs to be changed, if your Billion doesnt do it then you can't use it. Netgear gives the options to use diff MAC codes from the one that comes with it :D

edit: I think the MAC code is what gives you the access to the connection.

It is with Be. When using any other router than the Bebox (780) you need to change the Mac code of the replacement device to that on the sticker on the bottom of the Bebox.

u need MAC address from your original bebox. BUT i read somewhere that bethere will update your new MAC address after 24 hours offline (no modem connected to phone line)

i had to cloned MAC address from my bebox into my Netgear DG834GT router. no problem!

There are two codes at the bottom of my 780WL (sticker on the left)

Modem Access Code
MAC

Both are "MAC" but they have different codes. I find it strange Billion can't change MAC code.

Long as the settings are correct , I see no reason why it should not.

Thats what I do if I need to switch for what ever reason. Be box off , wait a while , plug netgear in. Then do the same to switch back.

gahhh still not working (disconnected be box for 1 hour) it should be working,
