The first month I had Be it was perfect, 6.6mb stable line (my line is fairly long) but then I started having connection issues. They "fixed" my line and a week or so later I start syncing at ~2mb and getting signal losses like you can't imagine (like 50 in 2 days).

So I contacted Be and they ran their crappy tests and BT was apparently sent to fix my line. Again my line was "fixed" but no difference. This went on for another couple of times over 2 months and NOTHING has been done.

I just called them today and the woman on the phone told me they can only raise a fault to BT if their system says my line is faulty...and she told me my line was NORMAL?!? Basically I told her where to go in the most polite way explaining how 65 dropouts in 36 hours is not normal.

On top of this I have applied for termination of service but I have to wait until Nov or I have to pay some ridiculous amount, but if they ******* up my line won't I have probs with my new provider? And I have to pay for activation again :/

They had to put me on the most stable profile aka 1.5mb to prevent dropouts but £24 for a crap 1.5mb connection is taking the P.

What should I do? I'm really fed up as I can't game for longer than an hour without a dropout or upload any work etc. Sorry for long post!

Thanks!

im not quiet sure what is going on with UK isp's right now, all seem to be going through tough times.... I could copy your exact post, but replace it with eclipse instead of BE, since ive had the EXACT same problems.

I was thinking of going down the BE route as my exchange is due to be unbundled in May 2007 but after reading this post and a few others over on ADSL Guide, I'm having second thoughts now.

I also have a longish line like you so I might knock the idea on the head for a while.

The state of the broadband service in UK is shocking and there isn't much consumers with problems can do anything about

What kind of probs is your friend having Paulus? And how are you going about fixing it?

Sounds bad, cannot say what tools they use to determin if there is a problem with the line but if you are getting droputs they should report it, unless you are one of these people who refuses to do diagnostics. :p

Master test socket, alternate filter and fac reset of your router/alternate router and if it is still not stable give them abuse.

I refused diagnostics in the last phone call cos I did those crappy tests like 5 times already! :p

Also tried all the stuff you suggested including giving some abuse but nothing :( Looks I have to put up with this BS until they finally terminate my service. Their 3 month notice for termination doesn't help :/
