At long last im ditching AOL because quite frankly they are carp. When I rang Be There today they said I should achieve around 8mbps on my line with 1.2mbp up. So its a fair speed imho.

I currently use my connection for gaming. So what's peoples experience of Be There in terms of support and quality of service. Also whats the pings and hops like to UK servers

I got their unlimited service for my parents house, pretty good i think, the bebox was the best thing about it, real nice piece of kit.

They've not had any problems with it so far in the first few months, their support and customer service personnel are based abroad so expect what you will from that, but otherwise pretty pleased, download speeds are excellent, puts my 2meg cable connection to shame :o

I'd 'Be' .......sorry :) interested in peoples views on this too?

My net's mainly for gaming and browse with the odd bit of downloading

I have just subscribed to their service and received their Be Box today. My net connection is going live tomorrow and I'll let you know what its like.

Been with them since launch in Nov 2005.

In summery:

Excellent Customer Service.
Top Speeds and never experienced any contention.
Top router provided with all the VOIP ports

Sync speed is around 19-21Mbit with very rare drops. On the 6db profile with 12.5 attenuation downstream.

The exchange is about 400 meters down the road from the apartment.

Had two connections with be* and they have both been excellent. Support is helpful and quick, although it is based in eastern europe.

If i was looking for a new provider and be* was enabled on that exchange it would go with them straight away.

Ping are also good.

Im thinking of going onto these when they start at my exchange in May, just got my MAC today from AOL and going onto UKFSN, so i can jump onto Be Unlimited when they start as UKFSN is a monthly. :)

Been with Be around 3 months now. The router works fine. My pings are great and i get a good speed (sync at ~17). Havnt spoke to them over the phone, but initially i used some of the customer support tickets in the member area and by the next morning they had replied (:

Been with Be for about a year now and it's been great for me, haven't had any real problems with them for quite a while :)

As a different opinion, i've used be* in the past and i wasn't impressed, speed and latency was nothing special (sync speed is fine but their core network doesn't look up to the job). Customer service were pretty useless both getting it installed and helping out with an issue with the router (password didn't work properley with ie7). Maybe fine for basic stuff but pretty useless thereafter.

It's unlimited and cheap so worth looking at but it's not brilliant by any standard.

they also seem to have plenty of maintainence upgrade cutting people off for a few hours at a time, to be fair it's not at peak times but it has happened when i was online. they also have the odd unscheduled drop.

Anyone have any idea how fast a connection i could expect once Be are in my area (End of Jan). According to Samknows i'm 777 metres from the exchange as the crow flies.

We've been with Be for about a month now and must say they've been excellent so far. No connection issues, fast speed and although they use a foreign call centre, you can easily understand the people and they seem to know what they're doing rather than just reading off a screen.

Also been with them since Lunch....never have any problems, cheap as chips (£20 p/m for life :) ) & fast fast fast. The IE7 password thingy is a known issue & BE are waiting on speedtouch (who make the BE Box) to release a fix for it. There is a work around provided on the official forums

Thanks for the replies guys. It has made my decisions easier to say the least :)

What is the issue with IE7 as I am looking to move onto Vista in the next few months
