Be There rejects BPI.

Good news indeed :)

Though I remember Be getting into a bit of a fret over piracy issues in the past. It took several vocal forum members (on the official Be forums) demanding answers from Brett Coles to get the situation remedied. To be fair though, at least they listened + sorted it.

Aekeron, do you use Be in Manchester ?

Yup. Well, I'm on o2 now. I used to use Be.

This is actually FrenchTart of fragM btw. Assuming you're the same Loki I spoke to a while back.

Waves at Frenchtart ;)

looking to change from VM to a decent ISP in Manchester area so I guess its a toss up between Sky, Be or O2

Definitely go Be or o2. And tbh, go o2 and speak to Zombi3 on here as he can get you the o2 premium package for only £7.50/month :) Get paperless billing on your BT line and you get BT line + up to 20mbit internet for about £17.50/month in total.

Have you put your details into www.samknows.com to find out your distance from the exchange + what is available?

Does this mean o2 will be the same?

Let's hope so... Though if o2 change their minds I imagine Be will have to follow suit.

About 2Km's so I am guessing I should get about 10-12meg off the O2 line which wont be too bad

Hopefully get a powerline network set up as well :)

If it's 2km straight line distance then the line length is likely to be quite a bit more. More like 3km+...I suspect 10meg might be a bit hopeful for this :/

Just warning you of the perils of ADSL and long lines, as I have suffered from poor quality lines in the past myself.

If I can get 8mb unmetered I will be happy. When I had AOL I was lucky to get 2mb but there line was terrible along with everything else AOL

True enough :)

Well, good luck with it anyhow. Consider also getting a sky-branded netgear dg834gt from an auction site and flashing it with the dgteam custom firmware. You should find that it'll deal with noisy/long lines a bit better than the o2 box you're supplied with.

Might have to pick your brains over MSN on that at a later date ;)
