I had used them on and off before, and had been fine. I bought a game key on PC a few weeks ago,for something which was released in the last week. It never came - so queried their CS a few days ago. No answer outside an automated E-mail. Waited 24 hours, asked what was happening. Used social media to contact them no answer, and then looked on Twitter:

https://twitter.com/hashtag/cdkeys?lang=en

LMAO,loads of people not receiving their keys, sometimes upto 4 days after a CS query, there was no answer!!

Then saw this:

Note: Due to a heavy influx of requests, we're expecting a response time of 24-48 hours to get back to you. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. Occasionally, there may be a situation where order confirmation emails take longer than usual to arrive. Kindly check your spam/junk folder. If there's no email even after 30 minutes passed, please raise a support request here. For faster resolution, raise only 1 support request. Sending in more requests or replying more than once to your unanswered request, will push your request further back in the queue, causing a delayed response. Be assured that our Customer Care team will reply ASAP. We truly appreciate your patience.

It seems they are having major issues now,so are having a heavy level of CS queries. That tells me they are not delivering keys.

So after two working days in Dubai(this is where they are located),I had no response and the key had been bought weeks ago. Then I decided to contact them via Paypal mediation. Waited another working day and nothing. So at this point I had used e-mail,social media and Paypal to contact them. The joke is before using Paypal to contact them they say it normally takes around 2 hours for a response. LMAO.

Then I had to escalate it to a claim and got my refund.

So for the time-being be wary of them. You might get a key from them, you might not. Make sure you check Twitter.

Also if you have a problem, and they do ignore your CS query within 48 hours, just go straight to your payment provider.

Edit!!

Investigating this further it might be more with newer games.

This would be a shame if true.

I've been using CD Keys for years no with no issues.

My BF5 key is bought from them.

Would be a shame if they went out of business as prices elsewhere are just silly.

---

Not seeing anything on their twitter to suggest they are having issues tho.
Been using cd keys for years won't be changing anytime soon.

You got your money back so no big deal.

I pre-ordered my Bf V with them.
Paid via PayPal so a refund shouldn't be an issue if they go bump?

Keep an eye on things.I am. It could be a temporary issue or they might be going **** up.

Either way Paypal should protect you. If you don't get the key by the expected date, then immediately contact their CS. If they ignore you, then just go to Paypal.

I hope they are OK,as they are one of the few reasonably priced places which seemed OK.

Well it should be an automated process to send the keys out. This seems more a case they were selling stock they didn't have. The issues seem to be getting progressively worse. I wonder if this is mostly for newer releases though??

Waiting 4 days for customer service reply is still an improvement on what Steam would offer in the good old days :D

It was funnier, that their CS did respond very quickly when I asked Paypal to support it. LOL.

All the issues do seem to be with newer games,so it must be issues with getting new stock,or overselling stock.

Well basically if you do have a problem, and they ignore you within a reasonable time, just go to the company you paid them with and let them sort it out.

Hopefully they will get over these problems!

I did a Google search and there is a Reddit post stating the same issue occurred with PUBG and to avoid purchasing from CDKeys as they couldn't keep up with the demand.

Well if they had been honest and said they had oversold the keys, then at least I might have been more understanding. Just ignoring people is not really a good way to do CS.LOL.

It isn't isolated and seems to be mostly with very recently released games. Look at posts 6 and 9 where I have posted screenshots of their Twitter account. Loads of unhappy people, some of which have waited days. They made this post a week ago:

Another one today:

We have been inundated with tickets with the releases in the last few days
Look at their Twitter replies:

https://twitter.com/cdkeyscom/with_replies

People have tried via social media to contact them. They have taken upto 4 days to reply even on social media.

So for well over a week they have not been sending on stuff people have bought.

It mirrors my own experience,it took nearly 4 days to force a refund.

That is terrible CS. When crap hits the fan,now you know they are useless. It seems they oversell keys for newer titles on pre-order,etc so there is a good chance you won't get it on time.

That means they are like a drop shipper - they sell keys they don't actually have at the time.

My case was even worse, since it was tied to a Beta, which was time limited and I missed some of the slots.

Edit!!

Plus, yes I used them on and off for years too,but never needed to use their CS. So never again unless its some older title.

Wouldn't say it's loads. Especially In the grand scheme of how many keys they send out. People with problems are more likely to report a problem than those who received their keys fine.

They said the following:

That is over a period of 10 days. They stopped replying on social media for over 4 days.

They said its a "massive influx" and "inundated",so that is their words not mine.

One of my other gaming mates also got stung too - I was telling him about this and he said he had problems too.

They any ignored queries for 3 days, until Paypal got involved - then within a FEW HOURS they refunded it.

I would hate to think what many here would say if OcUK sold something, never shipped it,ignored a CS request for 4 days, and then you needed to do a chargeback to get a refund.

May have been expecting X number of keys for a new game and didn't get that many. Annoying yes but not enough that I would stop using the site. Ordered many keys from them new and old releases with no issues.

You do realise the games which they could not supply were still being sold during that period on their website, right?? A period of 10 days.

So they not only are selling keys they don't have, but when there is a supply problem, they still sell them. They should have put "out of stock" then on their website.

I bought a few games off them before and "it was fine" too.

However, this is what their "CS" looks like - rubbish.

Never had an issue with them. But if I did find myself in the situation where I needed a refund, I wouldn't be holding my breath.

Well it seems for new releases they sell stock they actually don't have. A lot here defend them since they are cheap,so they would rather stick their head in the sand when there is a problem.

The worst thing is they were not sending out keys for certain games, then ignoring CS queries, whilst selling the affected games on their website. So they know they can't supply the keys to existing purchasers, but still sell them to new purchasers.

The moment Paypal got involved they knew they didn't have a leg to stand on,and refunded very quickly.

TBH,I was way too nice to them. Ordered the key a few weeks ago as a pre-order. I should have gotten the key last week, but I gave them a few extra days since I trusted them and the CDKeys fans said they had a perfect record. More fool me,I should have just immediately got on the case, and ignored all their fans.

Moral of the story,if they don't respond within 24 hours of a query(48 is being too nice in retrospect),just go to your payment provider. Its most likely they are being "inundated" again.

It happened for 10 days apparently,so they still took orders when they couldn't fulfill the previous ones. So then could have always just said "out of stock" until they fulfilled the orders. They had three weeks in my case,so its probably them being totally disorganised.

At every point in the contact process I waited longer than what they suggested themselves so its not like I was being that impatient. On Paypal it said within a few hours via mediation but I have them much more than that. But the moment I asked Paypal to get involved they did respond.

So they only have themselves to blame. But fight with the customers then. Shrugs.

Anyway problem solved on my end - I just will use UK based companies or ones which are located closer to home. Learnt my lesson.

How do you know they were out of stock?
How do you know they weren't just going through a very long list of orders?

I don't really care either way, as I don't use them and don't have a horse in this race, but I'd likely give them the benefit of the doubt at least in part.

Well I order it 3 weeks ago, they missed the delivery date,by 3 days since I gave them the benefit of the doubt due to all their fans saying how great they were. Then I contacted them via e-mail. Waited 48 hours and had no response. Instead of going to a paypal claim,I went via mediation. They said within a few hours, then by the next day nothing. Upgraded it to a claim and pronto, the refund was issued very quickly.

Either way NONE of those issues are my concern, they took the money and didn't deliver the product. If they have personal problems, that is their issue as a business. Hire more people, and if the price goes up,meh. If they can't then give the money back.

You worry about the poor company,I worry about my needs, and knowing by your own posting history if companies screw you over you get annoyed.

So ultimately, people can defend this company to death - awesome for you all.

Processing orders and responding to tickets are likely all run-of-the-mill stuff and everything is queued.
But Paypal claims likely bump things up that queue, or are even completely separate workstream queues, in the same way we respond differently to customer claims that are instigated by an MP instead of the customer themselves.

Well that is their problem either way. If they want to expand the business then hire more people. Interestingly the holding company behind them says the following:

Omnyex is a leading independent wholesaler & distributor of digital products globally. Headquartered in Dubai, with multiple key partners around the world, we are well placed to serve our customer’s requirements.
Our management team have over 30 years combined experience within the online retail and distribution business having been involved with several ventures in the USA, Europe, Australia and Asia.
We know what it takes to provide good service and we carry this service over into our distribution business.

Oh well they have all these offices around the world, must be OK then?? Must be a company that never sleeps. Especially with their company taking up a whole floor of a high rise:

https://www.omnyex.com/img/omnyex-office_1.jpg

Maybe they need to pay more for more CS people, than shiny offices then. Or maybe with all these offices everywhere, perhaps they can train their CS better but then with shiny offices it must be expensive. See,if they had relocated to Slough trading estate they not only can save money but be near to the biggest Tesco in the country. Oh well, priorities.

Must be a very nice view. Shrugs.
