Why do people wear "beanies" in hot weather?

Again, I'm old and cantankerous but ... ffs .... surely they must be boiling in hot weather? ....... why suffer for "fashion"?

Not all beanies make your head warm. Some are made from a lighter material and just worn like a baseball cap.

i been thinking that aswel,few of my friends wear that aswel and its just pointless!im not old either im 17.

asked one of them before one said he didnt get his hair today so i asked him why not wear a hat. guess what he said?"cos i look better in a beanie" :rolleyes:
