Beating the POXY ice - overkill?

I am using http://www.yaktrax.co.uk/ and it's excellent on ice/snow, even ran in these while getting chased by chavs with snowballs

Same here, bought loads of them from the importer for christmas presents - many have been dished out and used already.

Not had to use them myself as we've only had ~1cm of snow in total and wasn't a problem, but the parents have used them and think they're awesome.

Had my football boots on today when I was out clearing snow, plenty of grip, wellies were just making me slide backwards when I tried to shovel the ice.

I tried these for the first time today. I walked up the street without wearing them and then walked back after putting them on. The difference is amazing and I seriously recommend them. I didn't slip once!

In case anybody else is interested in this sort of thing, I also bought a pair of Stabilicers Lite, and used them a couple of weeks ago once all the snow had turned to ice. I went for the Stabilicers to use while on my bicylce, so that I would be able to walk the bike down the icy side roads. They worked pretty well for that purpose, having the advantage of being usable while cycling, which the Microspikes are not. Unfortunately the stabilicers are made in the USA, and so their build quality is of the typical American "that'll do" mentality; I have my doubts as to how long they'll last.

The Yaktrax Pro look pretty good but I suspect if I ordered some, they wouldn't arrive before the snow has gone. I also tend to find I can manage ok with my boots round here.

I did come across this when looking up Yaktrax:

"Ice/Snow Grip for High Heeled Shoes" and only £6.99!

Honestly.. :o:o

My Yaktrax pros arrived today, the very day we received around 3-4 inches of snow, I have got to say, i am flying through the snow with these things on, they are brilliant
