What?

Short posts with an excess of vitriol and a severe lack of context?

Me too.

;)

Its utter audio sludge, the feeling you have heard the song 1000 times before, the bland voice, the samey music, beige, middle of the road. Its just well.. dull. Where is the originality?

ay rly, enligten me on 'this type of rubbish'. Maybe some slipknot would be more to sir's taste ? or possibly some raging speedhorn ?

Not at all, I infact draw no boundaries (bar country music!) I listen to almost every genre of music. I just despise this James Blunt/David Grayness.

Though I do find the vocals in CocoRosie to be a bit grating at times (a little bit like The Shining's 'redrum... redrum' in parts) and haven't completely got the thing with Regina Spektor. Still, would suit me as a Desert Island Disc. Emiliana Torrini's most recent work is excellent too, and not forgetting the ubiquitous Bjork.

Lets not forget Courtney Tidwell;)

Try this, a couple of tracks from a Kiwi group called Fur Patrol. I went to varsity with the guitarist from them. Julia, the lead singer, isn't entirely unattractive )

IMO pop groups are getting to be far too middle of the road - they just aren't taking stylistic risks anymore - it's all about selling singles rather than getting a decent album out there - bring back the 80's LOL

There was also some chick who did a cover of Straight Outta Compton by NWA, and who I thought had the most beautiful voice ever, but I can never remember her name. :(

Nina Gordon - ex Veruca Salt. And I agree!

Female artitists that are getting some of my listening time at the moment are Suzanne Vega, Imogen Heap (+ Frou Frou), Madeleine Peyroux, Leslie Feist.

Have seen an Amy Winehouse track played a bit on the box recently which I quite liked the sound of too.

The song is massively overplayed on Radio 2. I was starting to hate it.

Then I saw her singing it with just her own piano accompaniment on TOTP 2 and I loved it. She looks lovely too. A bit like Kate from "Lost".

CBS: What do you mean, over-produced vocals? Her vocal is almost "dry", FFS!

Here's the TOTP performance:

Ye that performance is stunning, and she looks soo bangable too. Anyone who doesn' want abit of her is clearly a batty boy, or blind.

il start looking aroudn for those other artists, but penski, what is going on with that queen adreena. Shes insane, but her nusic isn't listenable to me when lookin gfor female artsits. Im looking for something to chill out to, not go on a killing spree with :p

The version with just the piano is a lot better, I really like it done that way. The video in the OP isn't that great, I didn't really think 'Everyone's Gone To War' or whatever it's called was particularly great either. But she does, as aforementioned, look like Kate out of Lost so bonus points for that. :D
