So I need to buy a new bed frame within the next few weeks. I'm looking around online and as with everything else it's a minefield.
I don't really wanna spend much more than £200.
Anyone recommend any? IKEA springs to mind but reviews keep mentioning then bring super creaky.

Not had any issues with my 12 year old Ikea Malm frame. One thing to bear in mind with Ikea is they use European sizing rather than UK sizing. Great if you aren't a short**** Brit (my feet and ankles hang off the end of a UK size bed), but it can make it harder to find sheets/mattresses to fit (although most places do now cater for EU sizes as well).

Auctions, online market places. Picked up an as new frame for £36 the other month. Obviously some people prefer brand new so may not be suitable for you.

We bought our bed from Happy Beds, and then the bed in the spare room from Ikea.

We bought the ikea malm one for the storage drawers, but i'm not quite sure how it would hold up if we stuck our whopper of a mattress on it. I wouldn't cheap out on a bed tbh, a good bed can easily last 10 years, and can be the difference from having a **** nights sleep to sleeping like a baby.

the one i had with the mrs was about 150 and we had it a good 8/9 years.

looks like the ikea ones come in standard uk sizing nowadays.

im sturggling to find places where i can sppcify a delivery date. (am moving into my own place, i got no annual leave left so can only get deliveries on the weekend)

I've bought a bed frame from getlaidbeds they were really helpful and the quality was really good. Would definitely order from them again.

I am a little on the tight side (hence I paid mortgage off in 9 years) Got a solid oak. And. Brass one off free cycle (or gumtree, my ex found It) ,, its stunning

Another vote for the Malm. I only got rid of my 10 year old Malm bed last year and it was still just as good the day I bought it.

I didn't realise how much smaller a UK double(140) feels compared to a EU double (145). But agreed it was a bit of a pain finding sheets from anywhere bar IKEA

John Ryan recommend divan over slatted bed bases.

Which makes sense.

You want total support Vs slats which cause the mattress to dip and sag in places.

So I'd get a divan which offers full support.

You can get a decent do van for £200 however the headboard usually costs another £200 on top which is crazy.

Sleepeezee is a good make to look at.

Actually they don’t. They advertise their mattresses as suitable for all bed base types.
If you ask for their advise on the matter you would be told the above with the caveat that the slats should not be spaced more than 3inches apart.
Even then, if you were so hung up on the slat debate or could not find a slatted frame with the correct spacing then you can simply use a bit of MDF/Plywood/chipboard to create a solid base.
Divans are not superior as you think unless you spend considerably more than your quoted amount and end up with a suspended subframe divan, which allows for some give and perhaps not the total support you think is a must.
