Bedbug Epidemic

Lets be honest, plenty of dirty "insert whatever here" need to wash their bed clothes more than once a year. That includes duvet and pillows.

Same goes for the people who would happily wake up in the morning and leave the house without washing their skin!

You know who you are! :p
They live in your mattress, unless you're squeezing your mattress into your washing machine every week I don't think the cleanliness of your bedding has much of an effect.

You can be the cleanest people in the world, wash your sheets every day, but all it takes is one stay to a hotel. The bugs get on you/in your suitcase/in your clothes and you then have an infestation at home.

Wonder if there is some kind of trap, something bed-bugs like particularly (other than humans) with which you can identify easily if your home/hotel you are visiting, have them.

Trip adviser reviews must have become interesting.

I stayed in a hotel in Salamanca last year that, as I found from TripAdvisor reviews and not experience (thank god!), had a bedbug infestation.

I do wonder how many people are panicking and treating any insect bite as if it were bedbugs.

We had a friend that got an infestation of bedbugs a few years back. We had to bag everything and leave it for 2 weeks. It was very effective. However they hide in everything so you have to disassemble furniture and clean everything repeatedly. Steam cleaning the mattress is quite effective.
