Bee Hive in Soil?

dont kill the bees whatever you do, just call a pro to come and get them or leave them to it.
I have a nest in the soil in my garden , they dont annoy me or my two cats. so just let them chill - your priority should be to save as many as you can not kill them.

A friend of mine had the same issue and he tried dowsing the area with water (spray) which failed. He ended up calling a professional pest control company to deal with it.

both equally stupid responses to a non-issue, the pest controller should be massively ashamed of themselves. Bees arent 'pests' for starters, and thats before we get into the issues of them approaching the endangered species category.

I've NEVER seen a bumblebee sting someone!

I was stung by a bumblebee once because I stood on it. But I stand by my first comment in this thread because it wasn't a particularly malicious or painful sting and I had just stepped on it - fair play I say.

Bumblebees are just nice bees. I remember one winter evening I found a bumblebee that had stayed out too late and was now too cold to fly, clinging to a sunflower. I picked him up and held him in my hand and breathed gently on him until he warmed up, doffed his hat to me and flew off home.

Try that with a wasp.

same here...well i stepped also on one and who wouldn't sting in that case :D...no hard feelings between the "bumbles" and me though.
...always amazes me how they manage to fly(ish) considering how big some of them are.
