Went to Spar after work and woman asked if I was over 25 hmmm, you have to be 18 to buy alcohol legally , 21 maybe ? nope TWENTY FIVE

I look a couple of years younger than my age, I was 26 on Saturday, good job I had my DL on my or I would have not been able to have 4 cans and chill after work.

What sort of backwards nanny country are we living in.

Read up about it, its to stop adults buying alcohol for underage people lame excuse because any adult from 25 to 99 could buy alcohol for underage people in exchange for money or sexual favours.

Retailers are today launching Challenge 25 in an effort to beat proxy purchasing of alcohol for children by adults.

Absolute joke.

Another case of missing the problem, how about more police on the beat at night and more penalties to underage drinkers and their parents.

Tesco will refuse to sell booze to people who look under 25 - unless they can prove their age - from May.

The policy was ordered after one of its Express stores in Blackpool was fined £6,000 and threatened with a licence ban for persistently letting under-18s buy alcohol.

Tesco, the first company to be hit by a new "three strikes and out" law has appealed.

But it said a national Challenge 25 rule will replace its current Challenge 21 scheme.

It makes no sense, either have a blanket ban or no some **** pot policy that changes every year, Challenge 21 Challenge 25, what next Challenge 29 ?

Fact is a supermarket doesn't need its alcohol licence because they sell it for a loss to get people in, 3 for £20 offers, bottle of baileys for £5 etc.

They just roll it off the wagon on a pallet and on to the shop floor.

Was asked for ID in tesco at Christmas when I wanted to buy 2 bottles of wine. I gave the lady my driving licence (I'm 23), which should surely be enough for her. But no, she eyed my driving licence as closely as she could, then decided that it was fake.

I cannot tell you how angry I was. After a few minutes I asked to see a manager, who took one look at it and agreed it was ok for me to buy the damn wine.

Yeah the woman had a good look at it and I honestly thought she was going to say it was fake, she pulled a face when she gave it me back.
