Hi Guys,

I've not tried to spec a system in about 3 years

Anyway back to the point, I'd like to build my dad a new cheap system using onboard cpu and graphics, any recommendations?

Cheers

You say cheap but don't state what he will be using it for, it'll help us spec out a machine. If it is for web and email only, I would suggest a tablet.

I thought by specifying onboard cpu and gpu would be enough to point me in the right direction to be fair!

Can you even buy these at OcUK?

What's your budget and main use of the machine? Modern CPU's have decent onboard graphics if no gaming is required.

Hi String, thanks for getting back to me...

There is no budget as such but as cheap as possible really, he only uses it for Microsoft office doing his accounts and uploading music to his iPod.

I'm just fed up with how slow it is when I go round to print something off lol

I've been looking at the AMD's with built in graphics, think the system came to about £300... New word for GPU/CPU, Motherboard, 256GB SSD, 16GB Ram, cheap case and PSU plus Windows 10

Thanks Kurgen... So what's the difference between having the graphics built into the motherboard or CPU?

Is one considered better than the other?

If you plug your monitor into the motherboard hdmi then you are actually using the cpu graphics. The motherboard doesn't have graphics built in, it only provides an interface between the cpu and monitor.
