Ive got a message from work saying the following

"Due to a technical banking error you have been under paid this week, your missing money will be added to next weeks wage sorry for any inconvenience caused"

What the hell? Is there anyone I can ring such as the bank to see if there actaully was an error or whether my work is just pulling everyones plonker so they dont have to pay them properly until next week?

I dont understand

Trill - Why do you want to know?

It was a joke as your bank (might) charge you £37 (or more) for going past your overdraft limit.*

Your company might bank with Barclays, hence why you were underpaid.

*EDIT: Was completely wrong. :p

Barclays had a 'technical error' yesterday (link in second post) so that might be the reason. :)

If you write someone a cheque, when they put it into the bank, if you dont have sufficient funds in your account, you will get charged £37 (depending on your bank etc).

I can't see this being related to Barclays. More than likely just an administrative error which will be corrected in next weeks pay.

I think Trill is interested in who you work for as another reason could be cash flow problems for the company, which would be much worse for you.

but on the other hand think how much interest a huge company would make if they kept a percentage of everyones wage for an extra week.
