Beeping - new 2TB barracuda

Hi,

Just installed a seagate barracuda 2tb into a friends computer after installing windows etc on the ssd. The drive doesn't show up in the bios and it makes a beeping noise every 2 seconds. Is it dead?

Also with the hdd installed, it takes ages to launch windows and get past the bios boot screen, whereas without it installed it runs at normal ssd speeds

Try another Sata Port or cable.

I've got a faulty 1tb drive that does similar. It seems to work fine beyond that, so I use it as an external drive for non important files.

If it was new and did this, I'd send it back

Check it's not a faulty SATA port / SATA cable first..

I did try that to no avail
