So I sold my E92 335i because I found it a little boring but unfortunately instead of buying myself another car I took my wife's E93 335i and bought/rented her a 530GT.

So in an effort to make the 335i more exiting I decided to remap it.

I have only been driving in london traffic today, I did give it a small blast off the lights and it is quite a lot faster but as fox said its pointlessly quick now and I will probably still chop in the car for something else in the summer.

I will post a bit more of a review after I have had a chance to really drive it.

You should have seen the 335i I did, my giddy aunt what a weapon.
I did however fit bigger turbos and remove the cats. :o

Pretty sure it made somewhere in the region of 470bhp IIRC
It was an Alpina B3 mind.

Jebus.

Is that with an automatic gearbox? How does it handle the power?

it seems to be fine, actually its probably smoother now as it was a little harsh when changing gears before.

I love that engine so much :D

I think you need to get your self a 535i F10:D

For me a manual 135i on this remap will be just EPIC!

To be fair the power curve is pretty smooth all the way up!

I guess I'm spoilt but it just doesn't appear the be that smooth and that torque curve is a mess. :p Now I'm sure, infact I'm willing to put money on it that in real life it'll be smooth as silk.

At power station the OPS car would be knocking on the door at 400BHP, as Evolves dyno is know for being very conservative.

Example of this my car made 355BHP on their dyno and made 378BHP on Powerstations, no changes to car. :)
A stock 997.2 C2S ran on same day too and got 362BHP and Porsche state the Gen 2 is 385BHP. Though as his car had 7BHP more than me on same dyno, same day, then in theory you could add 7BHP to my result on your dyno and you have Porsches claimed 385BHP for the gen2. :)

In short Evolves dyno does seem to under-read a little for flywheel figures, but it's wheel figures seem spot on, as my power at wheels is higher on the Evolve dyno. Seems maha is very good for calculating accurate flywheel figures, just not so good for people who want accurate at wheel figures. Or it could just be Evolves dyno is not so suited to dynoing 911's as they never make claimed power on their dyno, though as people say it's why dynos are best used to just show difference mods make. :)

335i remapped seems very impressive indeed, closet too 400BHP, M3 power more or less but more torque.

Its not bad considering you can get a 07 335i for 13k + 500 quid for a remap. They only cost a little more then a 320i to run (excluding cost of petrol)

Especially looking at the standard power curve, can tell when the turbos spool up with the little humps at around 2600 and 4600 (am guessing that's why), but if you ignore those tiny bumps it's pretty much a straight line up :)

For a turbo'd engine that's pretty smooth :)

they aren't sequential turbos are they? i'm fairly sure that they spool at the same time
