I am upgrading my AMD 64 3200+ to an AMD 64 X2 4800+ next week.
Now In the past I am usually so excited about upgrading that I do as soon as I have the stuff without thinking and afterwards always give myself a big slap because I never ran any before and after tests to compare.
I was wondering what tests I should run before I put the new CPU in and after so I don't do the same mistake this time.
I know about:
SiSoft Sandra
3D Mark (or is this more for when comparing GFX cards?)
Pi Test thingy
But ain't sure if they are the right things and what I should be looking for exactly.
Basically what do you run before and after a CPU upgrade? To get some nice figures to re-assure yourself it was worth it before you test it in games and applications you regularly use?
Thanks.
