Hey, Im hoping to order by 2moro. Im going from a intel p4 with the same speakers and monitor since 2002 to a new system.

Im looking to overclock and watercool, I have watercooled my system before because I want it the quietest it can be.

Mobo:Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38 (was hoping to watercool the northbridge but it has the silent heatsinks)

CPU: Q6600

Ram: 8gb 6400 DDR 2 ram PC2-6400C5 800MHz Quad Channel Platinum Low Latency

Graphic card: BFG GeForce 8800 GTX OC (asus not in stock)

Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1

Pioneer bluray drive, pioneer dvd-rw drive

PSU: Cooler Master 850 Modular

Case: Coolermaster RC-1000 Cosmos Silent Full (I think)

HDD: Not sure yet, but want 3.5 tb

Speakers: Creative GigaWorks 5.1 G550W THX Wireless Speakers

Hows that guys, does everything work well?
Water cooling Im still not sure. 120mm radiator or a 240mm? installed inside above?Or all in 1 system like zalman. Want it overclocked and cool, but quietness is most important. Ill be using the hdd cases to make them quieter.

So let me know what you guys think.

as far as i am aware, all your hardware - exc. WC, as i have no idea on that matter- should work in theory

8GB is a bit overkill, but suppose saves you tinkering about later.
8800GTX, kinda old tech now, it heats up a lot and the cooling is kinda cack.
GTS is quite a bit cheaper and similar performance and runs cool, but its personal preference.
You're buying top notch stuff, yet the CPU is base-range. The new yorkfield quads are out, they are better.

Case is wicked. Mine on the other hand, well it's like an airport.

Heard the Zalman resirator is near silent, it's fanless and cools quite good for the price.

Thanks guys.
8gb for £110 so thought thats great. Overkill on that, hehe.

CPU, was thinking of yorkfield, but overclockers dont have in stock and Ive asked how well they preform/overclock compared to the kentsfield but no1 replied. Also dont know if a watercooling block is out for them yet?

8800gtx. didnt realise it was old tech. thought only the 9600 and 9800 are the newest but the 9800 is a bit pricey compared, and everyone says 8800gtx is good enough for now. Hmmm, thinks.

Anyone could help with my cpu? does yorkfield have a watercooling block, does it overclock well?

in terms of its age, the 8800GTX is old, however it is still a very good card with only (i think) the 8800 ultra, maybe the 3870x2, if the game supports crossfire and maybe the 9800GX2, depending on how good the cards really are, beating it

I wouldnt bother wth an Ultra, when the GTX can be overclocked to similar speeds, its not really justified anymore hence why its no longer on OCuk
